Requirements
- A jailbroken PlayStation 3.
- MultiMAN, a PS3 homebrew app.
- The disc(s) of the game you're breaking into the files of. (PSN Store downloaded games will be discussed later.)
- A flash drive (to transfer game files to PC).
Jailbreak Guide
You'll need to jailbreak your PS3 before going on. If your PS3 is jailbroken already, skip this section; otherwise, below are guides for the various console models:
Tutorial
For PS3 Disc-Based Games
- You should have MultiMAN already after following one of the above guides. If not, get it here.
- Install using HEN/your preferred CFW.
- Open MultiMan (mmCM it should be called when it's installed).
- Plugin your flash drive.
- Insert the game disc and wait a moment for the game to pop up.
- Press Triangle.
- Select "Copy".
- Select your inserted flash drive.
- Wait for the game files to be done ripping to flash drive.
- Transfer it to PC by plugging the flash drive into PC and moving the files out of the flash drive.
- Now you can free roam into the files of the game (files should be in [FOLDER WITH GAME NAMED AS THE FOLDER]/PS3_GAME/USRDIR).
For PSN Store Downloaded Games
- Click here and search for the PSN Store game you want to explore the files of. Note the ID of that game (it'll be crucial for a later step).
- Open mmCM (MultiMAN).
- Scroll left until you see File Manager / mmOS, and click that.
- Navigate your cursor with the analog stick and click PS3 Root (not on PC, PS3! not to confuse you!).
- Click dev_hdd0, then press Game. (This is where the game ID comes into play.)
- Find the folder that shows that ID.
- Press O, then click Copy.
- Go out of the PS3's HDD directory.
- Go to your USB flash drive's directory.
- Press O and click Paste.
- When it's done moving the game to the flash drive, unplug the flash drive.
- Plug the flash drive in your PC and roam away freely in the game's files to find unused content!
