Luxor: Quest for the Afterlife brings the setting of marble-popping adventure from ancient Egypt to the whole Silk Road, telling a story of the stolen soul jars, narrated by the queen Nefertiti.
Gameplay-wise, it's basically Luxor 3 but in a non-linear progress.

Luxor 3 Leftovers

Since the game is developed using the engine and the gameplay elements of Luxor 3, there is no surprises that there are leftovers from that game.

Achievement

//#AchievementReflectorMatches "Master of Reflection Achievement!"
//#25matchesusingreflectors "25 matches or more using reflectors!"

Even though the reflector gimmick didn't return from the previous game, the strings for the achievement related to it do exist in the text file /locale/strings/English.txt, and are the only ones highlighted with double slashes at the beginning - suggesting that it may be initially considered to return but was scrapped later in development.
The image "reserved" for this achievement in /gfx/UI/TreasureRoom/ (hence its file name) is reused for the achievement newly-added in the game, "Skilled Traveler".

Level Names

The whole list of Luxor 3 level names is left over in the text file /locale/strings/English.txt.

ProfileCreateNew

From the text file /locale/strings/English.txt:

#ProfileCreateNew "You are descended from my mortal father, the great Vizier Ay. He was the only one that my husband, Pharaoh Akhenaten, trusted to be his chief advisor, and now you are the only one I trust to retrieve my artifacts and canopic jars.\n\nLet your name be known!"

Comparing it to the other similar strings related to the profile screen, this is likely was going to be shown as a pop-up box, immediately after the intro cutscene. Instead, only the last sentence is shown on the top of the tombstone from the file /gfx/UI/ProfileCreate_background.png, with a narration of the last sentence following it.

Easter Eggs?

#ProfileAssignRandomName "Your name will be \"%s\", which means \"%s.\""
#SutenHamu "Suten Hamu"
#ExplainSutenHamu "Royal Worker"
#ShaiRefer "Shai-refer"
#ExplainShaiRefer "Good Luck"
#Metit "Metit"
#ExplainMetit "Righteous"
#Mshai "Mshai"
#ExplainMshai "Traveler"
#Akhom "Akhom"
#ExplainAkhom "Eagle"
#Afrikaisi "Afrikaisi"
#ExplainAfrikaisi "From the Egyptian hills"

According to these strings from /locale/strings/English.txt, at some point of the development, entering certain names as profile names would also show their meanings in ancient Egyptian. It is unknown that it was supposed to remain as an easter egg or it was used solely for debugging.
