Debug Menu

Mafat Conspiracy - Golgo 13-select.png

In the Japanese version, at any time during the game, including intro, title or any other screens, hold the Select button on the first controller, then press A, B, A, B, A, B, A, B, A, B, A, B, A, B, A, B on the second controller. You will be able to select any cutscene or level. Additionally, on Controller 2 use Up / Down to change the background music or Left / Right to play sound effects. In the US version, this cheat was disabled, but the code to get to the debug menu was left intact. Using the Game Genie code IAUKZLYA, you can access this screen after resetting the console. It should be noted, however, that upon using this Game Genie cheat, once a level has been selected and you die, you will start back at the "stage select" screen rather than being given the option to continue.

The Japanese version Golgo 13: The Riddle of Icarus shows a detailed portrait of Golgo 13 himself above the game's title and copyright info on the right side, with the Golgo 13 logo taking up most of the left side of the screen. Mafat Conspiracy: Golgo 13 leaves the portrait out entirely, makes the game title large and the Golgo 13 logo small, and centers all of the text.

Death

In the Japanese version, a message saying "To be continued" appears on screen when you die, and you're then taken to the title screen. In the US version, the game goes directly back to the title screen.
