Michigan: Report from Hell is an odd survival horror game in which there is no direct gameplay as the game is played almost entirely through the viewfinder of a camera. Because of this lack of direct gameplay, Michigan was denied a North American publisher by Sony. The game did get a PAL release, however.

Regional Differences

Special Stage with Yinling

In the Japanese version, there's a special stage starring Yinling, a real-life model actress. All references to Yinling were completely removed in the PAL version.

Other Changes

  • The PAL version removed the mist effect when enemies are present.
  • Different music is used during battles and events.
  • The secret collectible video tapes that show interesting and mysterious scenes are broken on the PAL version; instead, all attempts to access it just redirect to the strip club.
