NAM-1975 (Neo Geo)
NAM-1975 (Neo Geo) |
---|
Developer: SNK This game has unused graphics. |
The very first game made for the Neo Geo to show what it can do (but not the sole launch title). It features cutscenes, voice acting, and sprite scaling.
To do: xy coordinate strings for debugging are in the ROM. |
Neo-Geo Standard "Eye Catcher" Data
NAM-1975 does not use the standard Neo Geo screen - instead, the game goes straight into attract mode, plays back a gameplay demo, and starts again. Despite this, the eyecatcher data (which must be provided by the cart) is still contained within the ROM's graphic files and defined by the program header.
To see these, you must change the value of 0x114 (or 0x115 in an interleaved ROM file) in 001-p1.p1 from 0x01 to 0x00. This tells the BIOS to load the standard eye catcher animation stored on the system, and loads the graphics from the game data. However, the Neo-Geo logo is displayed with incorrect colors because the palette used by the stored bitmap does not match up with the palette stored within the BIOS. The graphic data for the logo is stored at 0x003800 in the 16x16 tileset.
NAM-1975 (Unused) | Art of Fighting (Standard) |

For comparison, graphic rips from NAM-1975 and Art of Fighting, both using a palette loaded by the BIOS on bootup.
