Prerelease:Farming Simulator 2013 (Windows, Mac OS X)
This page details prerelease information and/or media for Farming Simulator 2013 (Windows, Mac OS X).
This article is a work in progress. ...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes. |
As the October 2012 deadline was getting closer, the more preview videos and screenshots were shared by GIANTS. Despite the introduction of numerous new licensed brands and features, some assets from previews were altered, and some unfortunately never made it to the final release.

Scrapped implements, trailers and other tools
Some tools, that were advertised on the official Farming Simulator website shortly before the game came out, are completely absent from the final release and its revisions. An archived snapshot of the website can be found on the Wayback Machine.
Kroeger Agroliner MUP 20 HP
This is a scrapped trailer, manufactured by Kroeger. This Agroliner trailer most definitely was meant for hauling grains, potatoes and beets, just like the other trailers.
The reason as to why it was scrapped is unknown, although it may be one of the following:
- Real life usage. This specific trailer is made for heavier duties, mainly construction work, therefore not fitting with the game's direction.
- Licensing. Kroeger might've canceled the licensing to this trailer before release.
- Other issues. It is possible that in GIANTS' or Kroeger's eyes the model did not turn out good enough, or perhaps GIANTS simply not wanting this trailer in the game.
Lizard Plow
This appears to be the plow featured in Farming Simulator 2009 and 2011. Interestingly, the final game features its unused store icon, possibly meaning that this plow was scrapped late into development.
Like the Kroeger trailer, there are multiple possible reasons it was scrapped:
- Function. In the previous titles it was used for rock clearing missions. Those missions are absent from this release, and aside from this scenario, the plow would be completely useless in any other mission or even normal gameplay.
- Model standards. Considering this plow was first made for FS2009, the model of the plow might've looked outdated in FS2013's standards.
Lizard Mobile fertilizer tank
This looks to be the fertilizer trailer featured in DLC 2 for FS2011. Interestingly, the same model is used for the Mobile water tank, also featured as DLC for FS2011 and in the base FS2013 game.
There seems to be no reason for this trailer to be scrapped, considering it would have a use in gameplay, and because there is no trailer like it in the final release.
