The January 1993 issue of Acorn User includes an early screenshot of Granny's Garden as part of a feature on the BETT '93 event, depicting a scene from the City of Dragons that has a few differences from the final version.

- The title bar contains a 1992 copyright date instead of a 1983-1993 one.
- The border graphic is different.
- The dragon pictured isn't carrying a shopping trolley and is pictured in the foreground with the caption "These big dragons are going off to hunt for their dinner", suggesting that this part would have more closely matched the BBC Micro version.
