Prerelease:Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Game Boy Advance)
This page details pre-release information and/or media for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Game Boy Advance).
Screenshots
All of these screenshots were published in June 2001 issue 153 of GamePro Magazine. At first you won't even say that it's this game, but it is. It's unclear why it looks so different, but it does. This version's graphics look similar to GBC version. Some areas from these screenshots didn't make it to the game at all. Maybe it was remade from scratch at some point and there just wasn't enough time to recreate all of the game areas. These screenshots are at least 6 months before the game release.
Cut Diagon Alley/Gringotts Level
These screenshots are most likely from Gringotts level. It was never in the game. The game starts with Harry already in Hogwarts, just like PS1 and PC versions. It proves, that this game could have a Gringotts level, just like the Chamber of Secrets for GBA had. Maybe it was a late game level, similarly to PS1 and GBC versions. At least GBC had two Diagon Alley levels, could easily be the case here too.
Diagon Alley looks too 2D for this game, maybe it was a cutscene.
Most likely some store in Diagon Alley. You would obviously need to spend Gringotts money somewhere...
Gringotts entrance hall.
Some weird golden goblin idols, presumably in Gringotts dungeons.
Gringotts mines. Was there a minecart mechanics? Also there's a lot of gems, looks cool.
A treasure! Looks like that's Harry's vault. What did the devs think about? There's a lot of shovels and etc, like goblins worked day and night to find more gold for Harry...
Hagrid
A couple of screenshots of Hagrid's hut.

Not only the game graphics were completely remade, but the layout around Hagrid's hut was changed as well. Also there's no HUD on any of the prerelease screenshots, similarly to GBC version.

Even though Hagrid's hut interior was completely redrawn, you can see the similarities between the two versions. Almost everything was left on its places. Some elements were moved or added. You can also notice the difference in the view angle. Prerelease screenshot demonstrates all these empty black areas, that ruin the immersion.
Hogwarts
And these areas look like some random classes and places from Hogwarts and Hogwarts grounds. Some areas shown on these screenshots look familiar, but others aren't. Maybe they were changed or cut completely, we can only assume.

The ladder is much better in the final version.

House points hourglasses were in a different place. Also they had stone statues of the house symbols.
Maybe that's the fireplace from Gryffindor common room and we can assume, that it was initially much bigger.
Looks like a garden from herbology lesson. Maybe not... These green wall fountain and fountain on the floor are repeated, so we can assume that's all part of one area.
Is this a Dumbledore's portrait on the wall? Maybe that's an entrance to his office. Or just some random Hogwarts area...
Most likely just Hogwarts dungeons, but could be the Forbidden Corridor.
Looks like the Hogwarts entrance hall, but could easily be a random area.
Looks like a potions classroom. The cauldron on the second screenshot has a shield icon on it. Maybe that's the cauldron for Black Fire potion, because it gives protection... Or initially Snape would teach Harry how to make invincibility potion.
Most likely library.
A couple of random rooms. The first one is just some classroom, but the second could be from a spell challenge. Looks like Harry already could search bookshelves for goods.
Trailer
In the trailer of the game we can see, that Harry Potter card originally could be seen in your card viewer. Sadly the trailer is in low quality.
Maybe the card still can be viewed using hidden debug possibilities.
