This page details pre-release information and/or media for J.League Pro Striker.

Early Footage

Released in the April 1993 volume of Sega Shinsaku Soft.

  • No music plays during the initial credit screens.
  • The magazine Soccer Digest is credited for providing materials. The final instead credits Studio AUPA and sportswriter Ryuichi Iwasaki.
  • The intro screen with shots of J.League soccer games is not present.
  • The only music present is the title screen track, though rather than the unique version of the official J.League song "Born to Win" heard in the final game, it's instead the Special Stage music from Sonic the Hedgehog 3! (Notably, Sachio Ogawa and Tomonori Sawada were composers for both this game and Sonic 3.)
  • Selecting options does not play the sound effect it does in the final game.
  • Pressing Start opens the game mode menu. However, the second option is Tournament rather than Cup Game.
  • The Team Select menu has a much simpler layout. Stats for each team also appear with Attack, Defense, Speed, and "KP" (Kick Power).
  • The kit for JEF United Ichihara uses the away kit rather than the home kit.
  • The scoreboard does not seem to have been implemented at this point.
