This is a sub-page of Prerelease:Little King's Story.

Little King's Story was intended to be released on the 27th of March, 2009. However, several notable changes occurred in the final months before its actual release on the 22nd of April that year.
This Official Insider interview shows many of these differences from the early 2009 pre-release version of the game.

Areas

Jolly Kingdom

  • The trash on the top of the picture had a different place.

Bony Tunnel

  • There is lighting from the exit of the tunnel.
  • Some dark effects are present in the tunnel.
  • There is a crack in the tunnel that only appears if you accept the "UMA Count = 1" quest.

Skull Plains

  • The only difference in this screenshot is the lighting.

Events

Cow Bones's Defeat Night

In this event, some lines are changed in the final game.

Pre-release Final Game
Liam: Yo yo. why are we here so late?
Howser: Just put that sign up here!
Liam: Hey hey. why are we here so late?
Howser: Just put that sign up here!
Howser: This will bring us closer to our goal!
  • The carpenter sign is different.
  • It seems that the second castle is already unlocked, meaning that a debug mode was possibly used.
  • When Howser talks, he makes like a cough sound.
  • After Liam puts the sign, he makes a sound never heard in-game.

Pancho's King Letter Delivery

  • Pancho makes one more noise that in the final game.
  • The letter of King Omelet isn't displayed.
  • The jewel's color of Corobo's sceptre is yellow instead of blue.
  • For some reason, there is no music in the video.

  • The bols counter was bigger and was resized.
  • The text "Initiate Plan?" was also resized.
  • At the bottom of the screenshot, it's written as ""B" Button to Close", in the final game it's written as ""A" to confirm".
  • The icons such as the "A" and "B" buttons are different.

System

HUD Scrolling News Bar

The text font from the scrolling News Bar on the HUD has a black border in the pre-release.

Jump Cannon

The Jump Cannon throw one citizen by one, it's possible that it was changed because it was slow when having a lot of citizens.

Music

The official website featured several sample music tracks.

The track titled "Bearded Freak" appears nowhere in the final game, not even in the unused files. The music itself is a remix of "Dance of the Knights" from the Romeo and Juliet ballet. The title and crossing signal sounds clearly indicate that this was meant for King Long Sauvage, either for battle or a cutscene. The MP3 is dated August 24, 2009.
