Prerelease:Onimusha: Warlords (PlayStation 2)
This page details pre-release information and/or media for Onimusha: Warlords (PlayStation 2).
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion. Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article? |
To do: compare PS2 screenshots, many differences with final |
PlayStation Version
Onimusha: Warlords was first being developed as a PlayStation game. According to the wikipedia page of the game, the game was 50% complete before development moved to PlayStation 2, though no real source is given for that claim.
A playable build was shown to the public, allegedly only a small portion of the game was playable in that build.

Videos
A Capcom promo video for E3 2000. A trailer for Onimusha can be seen at 10m19s, it shows early gameplay footage with environments that differ from the final, and slower gameplay with more weight to the movements.
E3 2000 coverage by PlayStation Underground. An early version of the start of the game can be seen in action, the camera on the bridge uses an angle located on the opposite side compared to final, the corpses from final are missing, so is the wooden wall on the other side of the river. Instead of the cutscene from final, it is possible to cut a rope as to drop logs onto enemies climbing the river bank, this feature was entirely cut for final.
