2008
- April 23 — Date of the earliest bootable leaked prototype build.
2009
- December 10 — The title of the 13th Pokémon movie, 幻影の覇者Z (Phantom Champion Z), is revealed.[1]
2010
- January 29 — The official site teases a new DS Pokémon game for 2010.[2]
- February 6 — Junichi Masuda reveals Zoroark's silhouette on Pokémon Sunday.[3]
- February 10 — Zorua and Zoroark are revealed by CoroCoro, with the "Z" in the 13th movie's title now being Zoroark.[3]
- April 9 — The official site reveals the new titles as Pokémon Black and White, along with their logos, with a release set for Fall. The first screenshots trickle out shortly afterward.[4]
- May 9 — Silhouettes of the starters are revealed on Pokémon Sunday. CoroCoro soon follows with their full designs, as well as images of the player character, and details on how the Zoroark event works.[5]
- May 28 — The North American website adds a promo for the games, revealing box legendaries Reshiram and Zekrom, and setting the international release for Spring 2011.[5]
- June — CoroCoro reveals more on the games. The new Pokémon revealed are Darmanitan, Blitzle, Sandile, Pidove, Munna, and Klink. Other reveals include Professor Juniper, the design of the Pokédex, and the C-Gear.[6]
- June 26 — Pokémon Sunday reveals the full Japanese release date, as well as the first glimpse of N.[6]
- June 27 — Oha Suta shows a trailer for the games, revealing the new Pokémon Haxorus, Excadrill, Cofagrigus, Galvantula, and Drilbur.[6]
- Late June — Concept art for the anime surfaces onto the internet, revealing Woobat, Axew, Dewott, and Servine.[7]
- July 1 — The Pocket Monsters - Best Wishes anime is revealed, revealing Iris and the yet-unnamed Cilan.[7]
- July 5 — Photos of Bandai figures of Axew and Pansage are leaked.[7]
- July 6 — Woobat is properly revealed via Oha Suta. Same for Axew, and Gothitelle and Reuniclus are also revealed. The same episode showed footage of the battle during the Zoroark event.[7]
- July 9 — An unofficial photo of a demo build showing Tranquil surfaces online.[7]
- July 10 — A trailer shown before the 13th movie reveals Patrat, as well as a yet-unnamed Victini.[7]
- July — CoroCoro reveals Braviary and Musharna, and confirms Axew. Human characters revealed are rivals Bianca and Cheren, as well as Fennel, and N's name is revealed too. Locations revealed are Black City and White Forest. New features revealed include Tripe Battles and Entralink.[7]
- July 21 — Oha Suta reveals Alomomola and Gigalith.[7]
- July 24 — Pokémon Sunday reveals Victini by name, as well as details about the Liberty Ticket event.[7]
- July 29 — Deerling and Watchog are revealed, as are Pokémon musical, PokéTransfer, Team Plasma, and the Battle Subway.[7]
- July 31 — Pokémon Sunday reveals Cilan's name.[7]
- August 7 — Emolga and Darumaka get revealed from material for the Pokémon BW Tour.[8]
- Agust 22 — Pokémon Sunday reveals Pansage.[8]
- September 14 — Oha Suta reveals Petilil. [9]
- September 18 — Pokémon Black and White are released for DS in Japan.[6][10]
- November 22 — Nintendo reveals the English names of the starters, as well as that of the Unova region.[11]
- December 14 — The English names of Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour are revealed. N and Team Plasma's names are confirmed to be unchanged.[12]
- December 27 — The US release date is revealed, as are the English names of Minccino, Gigalith, Sandile, Blitzle, Pidove, Klink, Darmanitan, and Munna.[12]
2011
- January 10 — The European and Australian release dates are revealed.[13]
- January 16 — The English name and pronunciation of the Xtransceiver are revealed.[13]
- January 19 — The English names of Excadrill, Sewaddle, and Alomomola are revealed.[13]
- January 27 — The English names of Deerling, Basculin, Swanna, and Watchog are revealed.[13]
- February 1 — The English names of Lillipup, Timburr, and Tympole are revealed.[14]

2010
June
Oha Suta Trailer
On June 27th, 2010, a trailer for Pokemon Black and White released which has some notable differences shown:
- The starter selection screen looks different with Snivy's underside being green instead of beige in the final, has missing shading for its tail and being a bit shorter, Tepig has a more hind foot with one being visible in its sprite, Oshawott's tail has slightly less shading, and the unselected starters silhouettes are overall brighter than the final.
- Excadrill also has a different design having violet skin and its stripes flipped compared to the final.
- Galvantula's back sprite is in a slightly different pose which noticeably makes its abdomen and its feet move slightly up and has no outline in its abdomen.
- Darmanitan's skin is overall brighter than the final.
- Gigalith has some slight shading differences and is in a slightly different different pose.
- Drilbur's stripe in its back sprite is flipped and has less outlines on its claws.
- Blitzle has slight differences in its pattern.
- Cheren's VS sprite is slightly different with a minor overhaul to its eyes and shading.
