January

GameCube Demo Disc

Hmmm...
To do:
Check for more differences.

Found on a GameCube Interactive January 2002 Demo Disc. This build appears to be in between the Spaceworld 2001 build and the E3 2002 build that is available.

Much more of the game appears to be finished at this point, but still retains a good number of elements from the Spaceworld build.

  • Krystal's staff retrieval scene is now finalized.
  • The white Os on the HUD of the Arwing sections look to be lowercased in this build compared to Spaceworld 2001.
  • The explosion shockwaves from destroying enemies in the Arwing sections was changed to orange.

Early Logo/Box Art

Former Rare artist, Nick Southam shared a portfolio of all the concept artwork he did during his time at Rare, which includes a decent amount of Dinosaur Planet concept art that is more revised than earlier versions, and an early logo for Star Fox Adventures after it dropped the "Dinosaur Planet" subtitle.

  • Concept art that was previously cropped, like the pterodactyl and triceratops at the bottom left can now be seen in full.
  • Some pieces of concept art were also slightly revised or completely changed like one of the Lightfoot concept art in the bottom right.
  • The newer Krystal concept art has a date of April 2001 attached to it, suggesting the redesign may be from around that time.
  • There are two pieces of Star Fox Adventures artwork as well that are for early box art designs, that show a different art style.
  • The second one has a more greenish logo for the game compared to the final, and seeing as the logo was finalized by E3 2002, these box art designs likely date before that.
