X2: Wolverine's Revenge began development in early 2002. It was released in mid April 2003.

E3 2002 Trailer

This is a trailer for the game from around E3 2002. It has many noticeable differences. Footage doesn't appear until 0:36.

  • The rage meter is different.
  • The health meter is different.
  • The score text is different.
  • Alert text is different and in a different position.
  • Disguise compromised text is different.

Cut Content

Lead designer Haydn Dalton revealed that a boss character named Omega Red, abilities such as climbing, sound dampening, extended leap and Spider Man being playable were planned to be in the game but were unfortunately cut due to time constraints thanks to his game design website being saved on the wayback machine.
