 | Please elaborate. Having more detail is always a good thing. Specifically: Is this a "pre-day 1 patch" version or something? If so, how do you access it? Or is it an exe accidentally leftover in the files of the disc? |
Nearly identical to the final build, the only differences are bugs and a "Friends" menu.
Back in 2004, the Steam overlay didn't exist and you had to use a Friends menu to see your Friends until 2009. When the Steam overlay was added, all Source engine games were updated to remove the Friends menu.
The Friends menu doesn't function anymore as the old Valve servers are offline.
