  • Compare the versions of Beach and Forest here with the ones from the April 2021 build.
  • Expand explanations of introduced features and levels.
  • Also compare between the versions of Beach and Forest themselves.

Things changed in this build

  • Added the levels Gnome Forest and Pineapple Beach (early name for Crust Cove).
  • Added the ability to parry with the taunt button.
  • Removed Mort from both Fun Farm and Space Pinball (the level layouts were altered accordingly, with the room farm_9b being bypassed).
  • The piggy "Total" icon that shows how much money the player has in the final game, rather instead shows how many points the player has accumulated in all of the levels.
  • Pressing the Shoot button makes Peppino do a break dance move.
  • Checkpoints were added in every level (except for Dragon Lair), usually in the room previous of the one where Pillar John resides.
  • Pressing F2 makes the player die ala Snick in the SAGE 2019 demo.

Pineapple Beach

This level, with the internal prefix "beach", has a completely different layout than the final build, which instead has a "plage" prefix.

  • You start the level in a ship until eventually leaving.
  • A slightly different version of Tropical Crust is used in this build.

Gnome Forest

This level also has a completely different layout than the final build.

  • The player plays as Peppino throughout the entire level, instead of switching to Gustavo & Brick.
  • Instead of each pizza being delivered in one continuous linear path, this version has each house in its own branching paths, each ending with a taxi that drops the player back off at forest_4.
  • When Peppino is carrying a pizza, it acts as a health mechanic; If Peppino gets hit too many times while holding a pizza, he will be automatically dropped off, where then Gustavo will get angry and punch Peppino some more.
  • Unlike the other levels, this one erroneously lacks a treasure room.
  • It also has two checkpoints; One near Pillar John, and another down the path to the Blacksmith's house.

A room intended to connect forest_9 to forest_14, with the locked door leading to the latter room. Both path exits are broken, and this room never got used before being removed in the Eggplant build. In first round

A room intended to connect forest_10 to forest_12. Same as forest_11 both path exits are broken, and this room never got used before being removed in the Eggplant build. This room also have arena fight part.
