To do: Differences between the previous Desert demo, "Let's Go To SAGE" builds, and BBL revisions. "wtf happened while I was gone? this was a page before!"-farticlalsaver 2024 |
Blue Block Land is a series of pre-SAGE demos that debuted the final game's levels, though they were only in a preliminary state at the time; The first version included John Gutter and Pizzascape, with Ancient Cheese and Bloodsauce Dungeon coming later.
Differences
- The grab sound is replaced with The Noise's iconic "Woag!".
- Pillar John has finally been implemented in his finalized role, however he takes multiple hits to be knocked down if he's not rammed into at mach 3.
- Debug controls are accessed by pressing the F# keys.
- John Gutter is much shorter than in later builds, only having 6 rooms and acting more like a mini-tutorial.
- The level's music, Unearthly Blues, is also shorter, ending before the part where the bass would kick in.
- Pizzascape and Ancient Cheese both play Cold Spaghetti throughout.
- In v3 and onward, The blocks are purple instead of blue, and Peppino can finally wallrun infinitely.
- Bloodsauce Dungeon's escape timer is more strict.
- v4 finally gives tiles to all four stages, however they all each use only one tileset and background, including the treasure rooms.
- The revision from August 28th includes a door to The Noise boss as seen in early 2019 gameplay, however the game crashes before the battle can start.
