This is a sub-page of Proto:Pizza Tower.

During the Sonic Amateur Gaming Expo 2019, another demo was released adding Snick the Porcupine as a temporary character, new stages to check out, a "Snick Challenge" mode and a lot of unused content.

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Level differences between here and the final game, including the PP_room tutorial.
  • What about differences between the Desert revisions, the Blue Block Land revisions, the Let's Go To SAGE revisions, the SAGE 2019 revisions, Noise's Hardoween, Co-op, December, & the final game (perhaps with the revisions of the final game as well?)? (Yes, differences between here and the final game were already in the todo, but there are other differences too.)

Unused Rooms

Hmmm...
To do:
There are 5 unused floors that once were featured in early Patreon builds, called floor1-floor5. Add info about these unused rooms and possibly add some videos showing them. Also see if these were repurposed in any way. The names are definitely taken/inspired by older builds, and said names are definitely used in the final game.

Entrance

This stage is an unfinished version of what would eventually become John Gutter, leftover from the 2019-09-03 build. Generally the level's layout resembles what it was like in the Blue Block Land demos, but now fully tiled; The stage is much shorter, there's no music, and some decorations are missing.

This room was left over from older builds, notably the 2018 Halloween demo.

Whenever the player gets a key and enters a locked door with it, this cutscene of Peppino running up the stairs plays. However, in the SAGE 2019 demo, entering a locked door with a key simply sends the player to the next room without a cutscene, leaving this room unused.

Unused Characters

"Playable" Noise

  • While this seems to be a heavy work in progress, there is The Noise!
  • He is completely playable. However, most of his animations seem to be unfinished, swapping out for Peppino's when there is no other animation.
  • He can throw bombs, roll around at the speed of sound, double jump, and glitch out!
  • He also has his own victory screen animations, for every ranking in-game.

Enemy Differences

  • The Pizzards' lightning originally was once able to grant the Knight transformation, as an optional alternative to the sword pickup.

Oddities

  • While Snick only has 4 taunts, there are oddly 5 taunt sprites in the files, from "spr_snick_taunt_0" to "spr_snick_taunt_4". The 5th sprite however is a duplicate of his "Hedgehog Stew" taunt, which goes unused.
