Proto:Pizza Tower/Western

This is a sub-page of Proto:Pizza Tower.

To do: Document some of the changes in more detail, such as the all too infamous Super Jump nerf in v1. Document the unfinished versions of Pineapple Beach and Gnome Forest that are leftover unused, and how different they differ from the next build.

During the month of April 2020, three builds in total about the 2nd World (or Floor) of the game were released to Patreon supporters. These builds also introduced The Vigilante, a new character (that could get softlocked easily) that was unlike Peppino and The Noise, as he could use Dynamite, wield a Revolver instead of a Grab (or spin), and had a health system.

Most notably, Western Build v3's entire source code was leaked by a couple of infamous Pizza Tower fans on August 15, 2020 after Tour de Pizza member Sertif's Discord account was hacked, allowing the hackers to access the staff only channels and steal nearly a whole gigabyte worth of data. The source code for v3 does not differ from the proper build, however.

General

• The levels Space Pinball and Fun Farm were introduced, along with Wasteyard in a more complete state.
• Room names were also implemented; A feature which would be relegated to just the main hub in the final game.
  • In each build, the room name for hub_room1 was updated, with v3 obviously reading "Pizza Tower Western Build v3". Interestingly, this room name would remain all the way up to the Rework build.
• The Vigilante is playable in v1 and v2.

Revisional Differences

Western Build v1

• Peppino's superjump had temporarily seen a major nerf; Instead of being able to ascend infinitely, it only rockets a short distance, approximately twice the height of a regular jump. On a plus however, the player doesn't need to enter Mach 3 to use it. This would later be reverted after some criticism.

Western Build v2

• Peppino's superjump buff has been reverted. It now behaves mostly like in older builds, but it carries over some of your velocity so using it is slightly harder.
• The Noise can now grab. This was done to fix soft locks involving the gun.

Western Build v3

• Access from all other characters was completely removed and wouldn't be reinstated until the April 2021 build (before being disabled again in Eggplant).
• Extra rooms were added to Fun Farm.
