This page details one or more prototype versions of SpongeBob's Boating Bash (Nintendo DS).

Hmmm...
To do:

Everything.

SEQARC_ingame1 seems to be a leftover from another game. Rip it.

A very early prototype of SpongeBob's Boating Bash was released on January 17, 2025. Most of the file were modified around July 17, 2009, so it was most likely compiled around that time, which would make it predate the final game by almost a year. Pretty much everything in this prototype is different from the final game.

General Differences

This prototype only has 1 song, the title theme from SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab, which can still be found in the final game, albeit unused.

  • The default image for the track select screen seems to be concept art.
  • The map screen is a lot bigger.
  • Most of the icons for the tracks are low-quality 3D renders and screenshots from episodes.

Gameplay Differences

  • A full minimap is present on the bottom screen, which was replaced by the boat's wheel.
  • Interestingly, this prototype can be controlled with both the stylus AND the D-Pad, however turning with the D-Pad appears to be much slower than with the stylus.
  • The boat's damage was represented by a small icon on the right of the bottom screen.
