These two demos appear to come from pretty early in the game's development.

Demo #1

Released by Toys R Us as part of an Interactive Sampler Demo Disc.

Applying the below cheat codes will disable the demo's 1 minute time limit.

  • Different design at the briefing loading screen.

  • The police car does not explode at the beginning of the mission.
  • No blue underlay on pop-up labels.

  • No sound effect when receiving checkpoints.
  • Different camera angles in the cutscenes use different camera angles.
  • When Logan gets shot, he screams differently.
  • Terrorists have better aim.
  • While failing, Game Over caption appears instead of Mission Failed.
  • Headshot caption appears slower.
  • The sounds of shots from terrorists are from .45, although they are armed with 9mm.
  • When shooting at CBDC, Lian warns "Gabe, hold your fire, he's CBDC!"
  • Different terrorist's screams while they are dying.
  • Terrorists do not scream if they're fried with a taser.
  • Some dialogue sounds different, and some have slightly different content.
  • Lian Xing is named Mei-Xing.
  • Shotgun has lower fire rate.
  • Logan's 3D model disappears more slowly when switching to first-person view.
  • Target icon has a completely different look.

  • When the bomb in the bank is triggered, Lian does not report about loss of communication.
  • The bank has different lighting and dimming.

  • Less responsive movement using L2/R2, as well as all other controls.

  • No "breath effect" while opening weapon box crates.
  • The grenade box crate in the bank is located in another corner of the room.
  • Small differences in the wall textures of the bank.

  • The roll has no audio effect.
  • Music has echo effect.

  • The texture of the doors on the buildings looks different, and some have stairs.

  • Near two police cars on the floor are missing two tiles.
  • In the alley there is the yellow light bulb above.
  • Behind two burning police cars on the first street there are four lampposts.
  • Light poles at the entrance to the subway are taller.
  • The tree that stood near the entrance to the subway now stands near the left window of the bar.
  • The subway has completely different textures, no blackouts and sparks.
  • Armor box crate at the gates of the subway is located in another place.
  • Terrorists can spawn and run out of the subway.
  • Into subway leads two passes instead of one.
  • The wall near the bar has an orange texture.
  • Kravitch's bar is rather different:
    • The top texture of the walls is orange rather than green.

    • There is no table with bottles.
    • There is no pool table with hanging lamp.
    • There are no recessed orange windows.
    • Some of the light bulbs are arranged differently.
    • A table in the hallway is at the back wall.
    • The lamps shine dimmer.
    • There are more light bulbs and tables.
  • Kravitch himself is also different: he has a unique 3D model, always stands at the bar, cannot move, has reinforcements right away, and speaks different lines during a firefight.

  • The communication array is located on the table next to Kravitch.
  • The bar has the window in the section leading to the elevator's alley and the Hotel sign.
  • One terrorist spawns in the elevator's alley when you arrive there.
  • The upper platforms have the gray rails in the elevator's alley.
  • There is no graffiti in the alley on the wall next to the elevator.
  • There are no orange boxes in the elevator's alley.
  • The M-79 box crate has 10 rounds instead of 5.
  • There is no sound effect when climbing on the ledges or while walking on metal surfaces.
  • There is no sound effect and a different scream when falling to your death.
  • During climbing to the M-79 box crate, two terrorists rush out from the left corner.
  • In the elevator's alley there is the Sniper Rifle box crate.
  • There's no report about CBDC needed help two blocks east away from Logan.
  • The sound of sparks from the subway's switch room cannot be heard from the street.
  • The subway's switch room has a different layout, with bulging shutters and pipes. It also has a fixed camera angle.
  • The terrorist does not appear when riding on the elevator to the alley.
  • The entire street with the theater is absent.
  • The pause menu has different sound effects.
  • "Briefing" is placed in Options and is called "Review Briefing".

Demo #2

Found in the Official U.S. Playstation Magazine Demo Disc 18. Practically the same as the Toys R Us demo, but does have a few differences.

  • The target icon now has its final design.
  • When the bomb in the bank is triggered, the message about loss of communication now arrives.
  • The pause menu's sound effects are different from both the Toys R Us demo and the final game.
