This article is a work in progress. ...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes. |
This page or section needs more images. There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this. |
The September 12th, 2004 prototype of The Incredibles is a prototype of the GameCube version of the game built five days before the final US release was built. It was released on April 3rd, 2022 via "Forest of Illusion".
General Differences
- The copyright info screen at the beginning of the game is shorter, lacking the information stating that "Lucasfilm" gave permission for the team to use the term "Omnidroid".
- The prototype does not check to see if a memory card is inserted.
- There are no FMVs in the demo although the company logo FMVs are still in the files.
- During the first loading screen, the game either crashes before the loading screen ends or if the game is forced to progress past the loading screen, it loads a blank title screen where Frozone talks but the screen is completely blank and the player cannot do anything. This is because most of the menu files are missing in this build, with Frozone's dialogue being the only thing in tact. Because of this, it is not possible to make it past the loading screen under normal circumstances.
- However, it is possible to load into the game by editing the in.ini file to skip the menus and boot straight into "Robot Arena".
- "Robot Arena" is the only level present in this build.
- Mr. Incredible in his red super suit is the only playable character in this build.
- Robot Arena takes longer to load than in the final game.
- The pause menu only has "Options" and Quit Game".
- The title for the level is not present in the pause menu.
- The button icons in the pause menu have a different design.
- During gameplay, there is constantly text below the "Incredibles" logo stating how much memory is free.
- Once the tank boss is defeated, the end level trigger extends through the entire final area, rather than just an area near a doorway which opens up.
- When beating Robot Arena or when quitting out of the game, the player is taken back to the copyright info screen.
