SOMETIMES I SEE A TEXT BOX AND I JUST CAN'T HELP MYSSDFGFFDHFGDJGGFSHGDFH
This page sucks.
If you could make it suck less, that would be awesome.
Specifically: Barely has content here.
So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?
Hmmm...
To do:
Like everything,
  • Add comparisons to the final game, especially for models, textures, animations and gameplay.
  • Clean-up the article.
  • Possibly add comparisons between the graphics options.
  • Provide a bit more context on how this build was found.

A prototype of YIIK, referred to as "Y2KPCBuild" and "Y2KRpg", is an early build of the game from May 11th, 2014. It was created in roughly two months to be shown off at PAX. Nearly everything seen in the build is different from the final game.

The prototype can be downloaded here.

General

Upon starting up the build, a configuration menu will appear. You can change key bindings, play the build windowed, change resolution, and offers six graphics options: "Fastest", "Fast", "Simple", "Good", "Beautiful" and "Fantastic"

By default the build starts in 1024 x 768, in full screen and runs under the "Fastest" graphics option.

Title Screen

The title screen is very different from the final game.

Following the title screen, a logo of Ackk Studios, the developer of the game will fade in and out followed by a message about the early state of the build.

Character Differences

Hmmm...
To do:
Add the rest of the portraits here, along with model and texture comparisons.

While the character designs look like their final counterparts, they have many differences.

The character portraits use a very different art style, and their skin tone is much tanner.

Alex

Prototype Final
YIIK-Oldalex.png YIIK-Alexfinal.png

Alex is very different in this prototype. His plaid shirt and pants are blue, his undershirt is red and his hair in his portrait is brown rather the red.

Michael

Prototype Final

Michael doesn't have too many differences, outside of not wearing his camera.

Vella

Prototype Final
YIIK-Oldvella.png YIIK-Vellafinal.png

Vella also possesses some differences, though not as drastic as Alex. Her hair is more purple in her portrait, her skirt has a different pattern. She is drawn to be as tall as the other characters, while in the final she is short.

Enemy Differences

Soul Survivor

TBA

Vampire Brood

Audio Differences

Sounds

There is no voice acting in the game, outside of obvious temp hurt sounds.

Music

Prototype (Title Screen.ogg) Final
TBA

The title screen uses a pleasant piano for its music, much different from the music of the final game.
