Roc'n Rope is the last game Tokuro Fujiwara designed for Konami before he jumped ship.

You are a soldier archeologist who can't jump, so you must use your bionic arm harpoon gun to traverse treacherous terrain, fighting soldiers dinosaurs and cavemen along the way, all in your quest to reach the mythical Hitler Roc.

Developer Credit

There's a programmer credit hidden in the ROM starting at $9695 in memory:

Unused Graphics

RocNRopeGoldenEgg.png
There are golden eggs in the game, but they're diamond-shaped background objects. This unused egg was meant to be used as a sprite.
RocNRopeDinoRock.gif
The dinosaur enemies might have been able to pick up, bite, and smash golden eggs at one point.
RocNRopeScoresLow.png Some unused point bonuses. The 2500 bonus could have been for collecting a golden egg.

The 2400 and 3200 point bonuses should be earned by dropping three and four enemies from a falling rope. As it is, it's impossible to get more than two enemies climbing the same rope.

RocNRopeScoresHi.png
These point bonuses wouldn't be unused if it weren't for a glitch. In theory, killing your 9th / 10th consecutive enemy via invincibility would give these bonuses.

As it is, any enemy killed after the 8th gives 200 points and produces some glitchy score graphics.

RocNRope Lowercase Font.png
Like many other Tokuro Fujiwara productions and early Capcom games, Roc'n Rope has an unused lowercase font.
