This is a sub-page of Saints Row (2006)/Unused Audio.

Hmmm...
To do:
Waaaaaaaaaay more. Check Sub-Pages for their respective Todos.
  • This is going to be a task but find which lines for specific pedestrians are used or unused.
  • Unused pedestrians browsing shops dialogue for certain peds. "STORECUSBUY is completely unused (86 clips), but some "STORECUSBROW" clips are used.
  • Unused SMOKE dialogue.
  • Unused ARREST dialogue due to police killing pedestrians before they have a chance to arrest them.
  • Check to see which STORECUSROB dialogue lines are used.

There are so many unused voice clips, they even had to be split up into multiple specific Sub-Pages.

Some of the subtitles are taken from the US_Strings.xbtl file when noted.

Overworld Character Dialogue

Check to see if the Lieutenants "generic non-mission" dialogue are used in missions.

There are specific unused dialogue for special characters that appear in the overworld, where most of them come with sets of being hit. They are not associated with any missions, thus making them applicable for any other missions featuring them.

Aisha

Hmmm...

Are death clips unused?

Though she is seen in the overworld during the "...To Kingdom Come" mission, there are unused "SCREAM", "STARTLED" and "CHEER" clips. Aisha cannot be startled, or run off screaming as he's always one of the Homies during the mission.

Warren

Warren comes with a full set of "STARTLED, CHEER, DEATH, FIRE, PAIN and SCREAM" voice clips, despite strictly being seen in a car during the "For King and Country" mission. The "VOC_PAIN" and "VOC_DEATH" clips are used but only if Playa manages to get onto Warren's car and shoot him from the driver's seat, which can be difficult in regular gameplay.

Loan Office

Lines that were supposed to play when Playa pays off the loan, likely from the inside of the building according to the lack of voice filter but the exterior is always closed outside of cutscenes and the marker is always placed outside, leaving these unique lines unused.

Unused phone call dialogue likely intended to play before Mike and Dan appear to get back at Playa for not paying back the loan, as it shares the same files with MIKE/DAN_LOAN_SPOT, the dialogues used for when they find Playa. Oddly, Mike has 10 lines while Dan only has 2.

Those voice clips have a different phone voice filter and no dialogue text, suggesting that those lines were removed earlier in development.

Arresting Pedestrians

Though the Police can confront NPCs at will including gang members, they are never seen directly arresting them and just beat up the victim until they're dead. Thus, dozens of quotes relating to them getting arrested go unused. ARRESTPC is used.

Dialogue that makes up a sort of scrapped "escort service". Maybe it was intended to act as an alternative to the Ambulance service? There is a cut contact called the "Pimp Van" which may have been related to that.

Some alternate takes of the Eye For An Eye phone call dialogue. The first (LOALOU_ANSMACHINE_1) is completely unfiltered without background music, while the second (ANS_LOALOU_1) is slightly more delayed and uses a different phone answering sound at the end.

Early Countdown Sounds

An earlier countdown voice clip that was used in the Post-X05 build in Demolition Derby. Final uses two unique countdown voice clips which are WFWR2_COUNTDOWN_3/2/1/GO and ??? for Racing and Demolition Derby respectively.
