Unused Homie Lines

Viola DeWynter

Viola Dewynter, a character that was, up until Saints Row: IV's release, a fully fledged Homie, was likely removed mid to late into development. What was left behind was such a large amount.

Categorised below are her cut voicelines, painting a pretty clear picture of her role in the story. It seems as if, depending on how you interpretate the lines, that she was supposed to be an unlockable Homie, whether it be through a mission, or just as an unlockable bonus character. These voice lines do not line up with Loren's Homie Conversations, however, as he himself asks just what happened to the twins. It seems as if Viola was cut just before Loren himself.

She later appeared alongside her sister in the probably-should-have-been-dlc standalone expansion Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell.

Unused Homie Conversations

Phillipe Loren

Loren, having most likely been cut from Saints Row: IV very late into development, still has his remaining Homie Conversations remaining in the game files.

Filename Audio Dialogue Description
Phillipe and Asha
Asha: "You know, I almost had you in Cairo, a year before you were killed by the Saints."

Phillipe: "Please, Miss Odekar, you think I didn't know that you were in the city at that time? I find that rather insulting."

Asha: "There's no way you could have known that information, my cover was flawless."

Phillipe: "You never did give my people enough credit, Asha."

Asha: "Like anyone working for you could have... oh, wait, Matt?!"

An unused conversation with Asha and Phillipe discussing a failed arrest(?) in Cairo.
Phillipe and Ben King
Ben King: "You know, I was like you once, I thought I could take down the Saints and carry on with business as usual."

Phillipe: "Is that so?"

Ben King: "But if there's one thing I learned, it's that the Saints can't be stopped. I watched them take down gang after gang in Stilwater, and nothing, not even the Ultor Corporation could put them in the ground."

Phillipe: "Perhaps it would have been more useful if your book warned against going toe-to-toe with the Saints instead of spouting all that propaganda about the dangers of organised crime."

Ben King: "You know, that wouldn't have been a bad idea."

Phillipe: "Unbelievable."

An unused conversation between Loren and King discussing the events of

Saints Row(2006) and Saints Row 2

Phillipe and CID
CID: "Is it true you let the Saints believe you killed Johnny Gat?"

Phillipe: "It is."

CID: "In hindsight, do you see that as a wise decision?"

Phillipe: "In hindsight, I would never have expanded to Stilwater in the first place."

Phillipe and CID discussing Gat's 'death' during the events of Saints Row: The Third.
Phillipe and Cyrus
Cyrus: "You know, if the Saints weren't pushed to the top of the list, STAG was planning to move against you and your Syndicate."

Phillipe: "That would never have occurred, Monsieur Temple. Senator Hughes and I had a long standing business arrangement."

Cyrus: "I don't believe you."

Phillipe: "Why do you think it took my death before she let you off the leash?"

Cyrus: "That was because of her precious bridge in Stilwater."

Phillipe: "And who do you think paid for that bridge, Commander?"

Phillipe and Cyrus Temple somewhat arguing about Cyrus' proposed plan of going after The Syndicate.
Phillipe and Fun Shaundi
Fun Shaundi: "So, I hear you're part of the reason I turned into such a bitch."

Phillipe: "I believe that you did that all on your own, little girl."

Fun Shaundi: "Little girl? You seriously going with that?"

Phillipe: "I have been the head of a multi-national crime organisation responsible for hundreds of highly lucrative actions all over the world. I owned businesses, buildings, government officials, and my own jet. What have you ever accomplished?"

Fun Shaundi: "I helped kill you."

Fun Shaundi and Phillipe talking about the events that lead up to future Shaundi.
Phillipe and Johnny Gat
Phillipe: "It's a pleasure to see you again, Monsieur Gat."

Johnny Gat: "You know, if you'd just left us alone in Stilwater, your Syndicate would have lasted a lot longer."

Phillipe: "And if you'd taken our offer on the plane, you might not have been captured and kept in your own personal mental prison."

Johnny Gat: "Trust me, that wasn't half as bad as being forced to work side by side with your smug ass right now."

Phillipe: "I did not make the decision to put us together, Monsieur Gat."

Johnny Gat: "You're right, it's like someone is intentionally trying to put us together to see what'll happen. Fucking fan-fiction."

Gat and Loren speaking about the events of both Saints Row: The Third and his eventual capture by Zinyak in Saints Row: IV, with a little quip to the fans.
Phillipe and Julius
Julius: "So what did the Syndicate want with Stilwater anyway?"

Phillipe: "With the increased corporate businesses in the city, it was a natural area to expand into."

Julius: "You mean Ultor."

Phillipe: "Indeed. My organisation had long-standing business deals with them, which made the prospect more appealing."

Julius: "But the Saints ended up owning Ultor."

Phillipe: "The media division, perhaps. But to think Ultor did not have other agendas is somewhat naïve, don't you think?"

Julius: "Well, shit."

A little bit of a lore drop here, with Loren revealing that despite the fact that The Saints ended up merging with Ultor by the time The Third's story takes place, he still orchestrated business deals with the rest of the company.
Phillipe and Keith David
Keith David: "So you're the one I have to thank."

Phillipe: "I'm not sure what you mean." Keith David: "Well if you hadn't opened that bank in Stilwater, then the Saints would have still been focused on their celebrity. Your little stunt spurred them into action, causing the chain of events that led them to the White House. Leading me to become Vice President along the way."

Phillipe: "Well, that's quite a theory you have there, Monsieur David."

Keith David: "I call it how I see it, so thank you."

Phillipe: "You're... welcome."

Keith David pretty much thanking Loren for the events of the third game, and proving he is a true believer in the domino effect.
Phillipe and Kinzie
Kinzie: "So, why Matt Miller?"

Phillipe: "Pardon me?"

Kinzie: "Of all the hackers in the world you could have recruited for your little criminal fraternity, why a whiny brat like him?"

Phillipe: "Oh, believe me, I had several before him, though none could match his talent and creativity with his tasks. Plus, the addition of the Deckers to the Syndicate was a strong move."

Kinzie: "But he's so fucking annoying."

Phillipe: "Miss Kensington, are you jealous that I did not approach you with the offer?"

Kinzie: "Yes, I would have been ten times better."

Kinzie expressing jealousy over the fact she wasn't chosen by Loren to do Matt's Job.
Phillipe and Maero
Phillipe: "You remind me a little of a former associate of mine."

Maero: "I hope for your sake that's a compliment."

Phillipe: "Tell me, Monsieur Maero, have you ever considered masked wrestling?"

Maero: "Well, I don't like... wait, what?"

Volition probably put this in as a acknowledgement towards the fans, some of who like to mention that Killbane is, to them, literally Maero.
Phillipe and Matt
Matt Miller: "It's nice to see you again, Mr. Loren."

Phillipe: "Please, Matt, call me Phillipe."

Matt Miller: "Really? Oh, all right then. It's nice to get to talk to you on a more personal level."

Phillipe: "I like that idea very much, I even have a topic for us." Matt Miller: "Oh? What might that be?"

Phillipe: "Tell me what happened to Kiki and Viola."

Matt Miller: "On second thought, I have enough friends."

Loren and Miller discuss their history a bit- especially regarding the twins, as Phillipe died not knowing what happened to Kiki and Viola.
Phillipe and Pierce
Phillipe: "How's business for the Saints?"

Pierce: "Got nothing to say to you."

Phillipe: "What's past is past. Johnny Gat is alive, and I am actually dead. Can't we at least be civil?"

Pierce: "Well, I don't know, do we have another giant-ass ball we can drop on you again?"

Loren actually being Civil this time around.. or at least trying.
Phillipe and Shaundi
Phillipe: "Hello again, my-"

Shaundi: "Fuck off."

Well, this fits.
Phillipe and Tanya
Phillipe: "You almost remind me of my former assistants, Viola and Kiki."

Tanya: "Almost?"

Phillipe: "Well, they actually had a measure of intelligence"

Tanya: "Fuck you."

Spoiler Alert: Tanya is really, really, stupid.
Phillipe and Veteran Child
Veteran Child: "Hey, if you ever get back into the whole criminal thing again, I can totally get you the hookup for good product."

Phillipe: "Product?"

Veteran Child: "Yeah, you know, Loa Dust, high quality weed, probably some of that sweet alien shit my ex found. Just saying, I'm your man."

Phillipe: "I'll, uh, keep that in mind."

Veteran Child: "You don't employ any crazy dudes with Machetes do you?"

A humorous conversation between Loren and Veteran Child, referencing both the Sons of Samedi and the Alien Narcotics taken in the loyalty mission Psychosomatic. To Australian players, this interaction would not have made sense, as the mission was removed in its entirety due to the reference towards drugs being used for rewards.

Unused Audio Logs

In Saints Row IV, the protagonist can collect Audio Logs that are littered around Virtual Steelport. However, there are quite a few audio logs that go unused. Some have been unearthed as working audio files, whilst some, like DJ Veteran Child's, have subtitles but no known audio.

Text Only Audio Logs

Asha

Only one of Asha's audio logs go entirely unused. Rather than being a standalone audio log, it is an alternate to Asha Audio Log 197 albeit with a pretty tiny change.

Unused Text Description
From an early age, my father instilled a pride and patriotism in me that carried me far in life. I dedicated myself to serving the Crown. I don't regret it, though it's not been without its challenges. One of those challenges was working with the Saints in taking down Osama bin Laden. Alternate, yet unused audio log text of Asha talking about taking down Osama Bin Laden with the Saints. The Saints Row Wiki states that this would have been instead of taking down Cyrus Temple in the prologue mission Zero Saints Thirty.

Dane Vogel

A supervillain in a pressed suit, Dane Vogel, Head of Special Projects at Ultor, has audio logs in Saints Row IV that go unused. He later made his re-appearance in the standalone expansion to Saints Row IV, Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell.

Text Description
The gentrification of Saints Row was only the beginning. Ultor's plans for Stilwater were right on track for making the city a bustling metropolis safe enough to raise a family in. Gang violence was present, but the arrival of the Saints was the final cog in the wheel of progress. Get the Saints to wipe out the other gangs, then get the police to lock up the Saints. The plan looked perfect on paper. Unused audio log texts of Dane Vogel discussing his plan that featured in Saints Row (2006).
With the gangs dropping left and right, the next part of Ultor's plan was focused on Shivington. The investors were all lining up, but the board wasn't convinced we could handle the Saints. With the police on our side I figured Bradshaw could handle his end of the deal, but I was wrong. Ultor had to step in, though that was a miscalculation on my part. Our security force was not as... effective as I'd hoped. Unused audio log texts of Dane Vogel discussing his plan that featured in Saints Row (2006).
Sure what happened at the Pyramid was a small setback, but you'd think it was Armageddon according to the board. Getting the Saints to expedite my promotion by removing them all was genius on my part. Granted I didn't expect to be attacked at my press conference. All I'm saying is if the Saints came to me in good faith to negotiate, I'm sure we could've reached a mutually beneficial arrangement. They just didn't understand good business. Unused audio log text of Dane Vogel discussing the events that occurred in the Saints Row 2 mission 'Pyramid Scheme'.

Veteran Child

Despite being a major character in Shaundi's story in both Saints Row 2, Saints Row IV, and showing up as a Homie in the latter game, DJ Veteran Child has no used audio logs available to collect in the game. Whilst not having audio, his logs still have subtitles, meaning they were probably cut pretty early on in development.

Text Description
All I wanted in life was to be a famous DJ, smoke whatever I could find, and get a whole lot of pussy. And frankly, things were working out pretty damn well. Not only did I have the money from my radio show, but a ton of extra cash from dealing in loa dust with the Sons of Samedi. Granted, looking back on things, that last part I probably could've lived without. Unused audio log text of DJ Veteran child talking about his life as a Lieutenant for the Sons of Samedi in Saints Row 2.
That Mr. Sunshine was a crazy fucker. Seriously, he gave me nightmares even when I wasn't stoned outta my mind. And The General, he wasn't much better. Once you get in with the Sons of Samedi there's no getting out, and there's no room for screwing up. Hell, I thought I was a dead man when they found me in that record store. And that was Shaundi's fault. Unused audio log text of DJ Veteran Child discussing the events of Saints Row 2 in the mission 'Airborne Assault'.
I knew where Shaundi was, so that part was easy. She was alone, so again, easy. But that damn boss of the Saints fucked everything up. Things were so much better when the Saints were just a Stilwater memory, but they couldn't stay dead, could they. Never thought they'd come after Shaundi in my own club. That bitch made me lose everything. Unused audio log text of DJ Veteran Child discussing the events of Saints Row 2, in the mission 'Veteran Child'.

Audio Logs with sound intact

Donnie

Donnie, despite being a character that shows up in Saints Row IVs DLC Enter the Dominatrix, has no audio logs in the game that are used. This would have probably been cut alongside his addition as a Homie.

Filename Audio Dialogue Description
Donnie Audio Log 220
I don't care what Sharp said. What Lin and I had was real. Sure, she was with the Saints, feeding them information. But I didn't care. She didn't deserve to be shot and drowned in the river. I should have saved her. Why didn't I save her?!? Price may have been my best friend, but in the end he let it happen. An Unused audio log of Donnie describing the death of Lin in Saints Row (2006).
Donnie Audio Log 061
I should've known as soon as I saw the boss walk in to see Maero how the story was going to end. The Brotherhood took me in, and just like the Rollerz I ended up betraying them. I was forced to do it, but I didn't try to stop it either... Lin was a Saint. Deep down, I guess maybe I was too. An unused audio log of Donnie talking about the events of both Saints Row (2006) and Saints Row 2.
Donnie Audio Log 327
Then came Zinyak. He snatched me from right out of my garage, thinking I knew how to stop the Saints. He should've done a bit more research first, but I guess he was too busy trying to conquer Earth. I got myself out of the Domination Matrix only to find I was trapped on his damn ship. At least now I have the boss here to help me. I think we have a real shot at making it home. An unused audio log of Donnie describing his capture by Zinyak and subsequent rescue by the Saints in Saints Row IV.

Lin

Alongside Donnie and DJ Veteran Child, all of Lin's audio logs were cut.

Filename Audio Dialogue Description
Lin Audio Log 087
Putting me in the Rollerz was a smart move on Julius's part. We needed the intel, and I was the only tuner in the Saints. I knew when we staged that rescue at Donnie's shop I was in. Price owed me one for saving his best friend and didn't doubt me for a second. I probably should've been more careful about how often I passed the boss information, though... An Unused audio log of Lin discussing her undercover role in the Westside Rollerz and subsequent death in Saints Row (2006).
Lin Audio Log 282
I read Sharp wrong from the jump. I always knew he was coldhearted, but I just thought it was a lawyer thing. I didn't realize how sadistic he was. I'll never forget what he said to me: "I think it's time to unwrap you." I hope that bastard burns. Lin discussing her opinion on William Sharp, one half of the Westside Rollerz, and the man who took her hostage and subsequently murdered her in Saints Row (2006). Goes unused.
Lin Audio Log 199
Donnie said I was his girl? Can you believe that? I mean, we were pretty close, but that never came up. We talked about engines, weight distribution, suspensions... But his girl? I never expected that. It was a nice surprise. An unused Audio Log of Lin talking about her relationship with Donnie in Saints Row (2006).

Viola DeWynter

Viola Dewynter, one half of the Morningstar lieutenants along with her twin sister Kiki, has no collectible audio logs in Saints Row IV. Her audio logs openly talk about the events of Saints Row: The Third.

Filename Audio Dialogue Description
Viola Audio Log 422
Phillipe Loren was the first man to treat Kiki and I with respect. To him we were businesswomen, not a fetish. We were his right hand in the Syndicate and he was our mentor. His death meant we had to step up on our own. Too bad we never got the chance. Viola discussing Phillipe Loren, Leader of The Morningstar/one third of The Syndicate, and his subsequent death in Saints Row: The Third. Goes unused.
Viola Audio Log 224
Fucking Murderbrawl tickets. That's what Killbane thought would make me feel better after he murdered Kiki. He took the Syndicate from us, then he took my sister! I vowed to get revenge no matter what I had to do, and no matter who I had to ask for help. An unused Audio Log of Viola Dewynter mentioning the events of Saints Row: The Third, including her sister Kiki's death and her own move to the Saints.
Viola Audio Log 374
I knew the Saints wouldn't believe me when I came to them for help. Oleg hated me for turning him into a science fair project, Zimos was still grumpy about the Pony Cart thing, Pierce never bothered to learn my name, and Shaundi was a vindictive bitch. It didn't matter though--the boss understood a thing or two about revenge. Viola discussing her opinions on the members of the Saints as they appeared in Saints Row: The Third. Goes unused.

William Sharp

Sharp, one Leader of the Westside Rollerz in Saints Row (2006) had both his Audio Logs and status as a Homie cut in Saints Row IV. He later shows up as a character in Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell, though only as a Storybook character. Now that's how you get demoted.

Filename Audio Dialogue Description
Sharp Audio Log 300
Joseph had a good thing going with the Westside Rollerz in Stilwater. Every dollar I invested into my nephew's gang saw excellent returns. Even the Vice Kings and Los Carnalles left us alone. That is, until the Saints showed up. It all started with that slut who infiltrated Joseph's people, Lin. Sharp's first unused audio log that has him discussing the appearance of the Saints in Saints Row (2006), the two other gangs that appear, and undercover Westside Rollerz member and Saint, Lin.
Sharp Audio Log 187
Donnie let himself get too close. He was Joseph's friend, but he valued his relationship with Lin too much to see what was right in front of his face. Lin brought everything down and Donnie let it happen. If he wasn't so close to my nephew, I would have put him in that trunk with her. Sharp sharing his opinions on both Donnie and Lin as they appeared in Saints Row (2006). Goes unused.
Sharp Audio Log 316
While I blame Lin for her part in what happened, I haven't forgotten the fact that she had help. It was that upstart from Saints Row who did the dirty work for her: raiding my house, killing my nephew and killing me. How could I have let it all happen? I told Joseph he had a traitor among his people too late. If I had only acted sooner, perhaps the Saints would have been wiped out instead. Post death audio log by Sharp, which oddly talks about his nephew's death despite the fact that it was Sharp who died first.
