Summoner, now with multiplayer and fewer crashes!

Unused Graphics

Files exist right from the earliest demos which appear to consist of a demo at Wolong with different playable characters to PC builds with a different UI to the publicly available demo.

Early Wolong Demo

Summoner appears to have had a different design at this point. The UI elements appear to be more inspired by Japanese scrolls. You played as a party of at least two, one being a fighter who would be reused in the main game as the Barbarian Fighter. Another as a mage who would be reused as the Orenian mage.

Macworld Demo

This appears to look closer to the PlayStation 2 version's main menu and loading screen than it does the PC version.

Unused Sounds

Outside of cutscenes, player characters rarely speak outside of leveling up and locked boxes. However, there is unused dialogue for each character for many different events including: Requesting heals, being poisoned, pick locking doors, in-universe expletives, and phrases for each class of magic being used. There are lines for characters who don't receive the relevant skills or spells, like Joseph having lines for casting ice magic or using pick lock.

Unused Music

There are fewer unused tracks on the PC version than the PS2.

TempleUrath2

Perhaps this was to be used during the Hierophant's sermons or the battle against the Tiger Rider.

ionaintro

The intro to Iona cutscene was much longer based on these tracks, taking four minutes instead of one. A stand-in voiceover is used for Flece.

Failure Modes

The Mac application contains an assertion dialog...
