This article is a work in progress. ...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes. |
This article has just been started and needs the article basics added. Help us out and add them. |
This page or section needs more images. There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this. |
Sunrise is an indie pixel game created by WushyAnimates in Game Maker, which is about the sun exploding and using a candle on wax to bring it back.
Currently, the game is in its very early stages.

Hidden Unused Dev Message
By pressing F1, you can access an outdated and hidden message from the game's creator featuring a Terms of Service for online play, a change log (outdated), and some notes.
Test Room
Pressing Alt while in the pod will bring you to a test room featuring a comments button, voice chat buttons (both accessible and parental restricted variations), and an early demo of player movement. Pressing Up and Down will make the player face towards the screen and back. Pressing Left and Right will move the player in its directions. A scrolling yellow grid background will also appear.
Oops Screens
By pressing Ctrl, you can access a screen that says:
Something's Not Right! Please Restart Sunrise! If this error continues, this may be an unauthorized copy of Sunrise! Please refer to the PDF for more information.
This could be an anti-piracy screen or an error handling message.
The other oops screen is loaded upon a corrupted, missing, or edited story mode save file. Currently, there is no known shortcut button to access this.
Unused Rooms
Unused rooms can be found upon messing with the game. This features a battle area when battling, a controller disconnected screen, and a pod variation where the controller hooked to the computer and Sunrise program cannot be recognized.
"Error Messages" Object
This unused object contains text boxes showing error messages:
- "There was trouble connecting to an internet connection"
- "There was trouble connecting to Sunrise servers (403)"
- "There was trouble connecting to Playstation Network"
- "There was trouble connecting to Xbox Network"
- "Someone in the party you attempted to join does not have Playstation Plus"
- "Someone in the party you attempted to join does not have Xbox Live Gold"
- "Someone in the party you attempted to join does not have Nintendo Switch Online"
These last five messages could be hints to PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series X, and Nintendo Switch versions of Sunrise, of which only the Switch edition has been teased by the game's lead programmer.
