TAS
New TAS mentions that memory corruption can enable a "demo version flag" and do horrible things to a real cartridge. This may be related to the unused "Trial Edition" graphic. --Agiletek (talk) 07:31, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
Deeper-pitched sound effects in Advance Collection?
I genuinely can't tell if it's just me, but in Advance Collection(at least the Switch version), multiple sound effects seem to be deeper-pitched than they are on the original GBA release. These include the hit/death noises for Witch, Siren, Axe Armor, the late-game counterparts of these enemies, and possibly some others that I'm missing. I've checked the original release(both on GBA SP and emulator), and they sound higher-pitched there. --Vvvermilion (talk) 00:50, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- Can you make a video to compare? ReyVGM (talk) 04:40, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- Here you go (I apologize for it being audio-only, I don't have a stand or anything to put my phone on). First example is me killing a Witch on the original release(played on a GBA SP), and the second example is me doing the same but on Advance Collection. --Vvvermilion (talk) 05:14, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- I actually heard the attacks' sound more and than the enemy's. However, I did faintly hear the enemy's screem in the first part of the audio and didn't hear it at all on the second part. I don't know if that's your case, but sounds coming from a TV, soundbar or surround system might change the volume/pitch of certain sound effects. Specially if it's a game that wasn't supposed to play sounds through those type of speakers. ReyVGM (talk) 05:25, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, I had the volume on max @_@ I looked up longplays of both versions- here's a Witch on the original, and a Witch on Advance Collection --Vvvermilion (talk) 05:31, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
