More possible unused Music Tracks?

Ive played Mighty Gunvolt for quite awhile now, and while i know there are a few ACTUAL unused tracks for the game, i have a feeling there are more.

I came across these music tracks via an online upload of the (possible?) Soundtrack Disc Inti Creates released for the game. There are 5 total tracks that i dont recgonize being in the game at all.

The names are as follows: "Expected Abyss" "Magnetic Field of Greed" "The Perplexing Nightless City" "Floating Bridge in the Sky" "Girl's Prayer"

All of these tracks are complete 8-Bit renditions of songs from the original Azure Striker Gunvolt, except possibly "Girl's Prayer". I have not finished Azure Striker Gunvolt, so that last bit might not be true. These are NOT beta tracks from GV1, and i can tell because they have the exact same style within the other tracks in-game. I have tried going through the files on my original 3DS copy of the game, but i haven't had luck locating any possible Music files so far.

No, you see, they would be "unused" tracks if they were actually inside of the game's files and didn't saw any use at all. What you are describing isn't quite it because there's no evidence Inti ever intended those songs to be in Mighty Gunvolt, it's more likely that those are "bonus tracks" for the CD release, since that way it doubles as chiptune cover album of the Azure Striker Gunvolt 1 OST (Inti really has a stranglehold on their CD releases as they tend to pump out multiple for each game).

I had better luck checking the audio files from the PS Vita version (which mostly has already cleaned up the majority of unused sprites) as the sound is stored in common .bnk packages, and the way audio is handled in that game is that all of the songs are split into 4 different tracks played simultaneously to simulate the different audio channels of the NES (square, triangle and noise) and only the songs you remember from the game are there. The 3DS version is not possible to rip from with the current tools I'm afraid.

Huh, that actually would make largely more sense if they were simply bonus tracks within the Soundtrack CD. It also makes sense that i couldnt rip any music files for the 3DS release. Still though, i feel like these possible "Bonus Tracks" should have some mention on the page, as it is highly unlikely these tracks will ever be heard from or even known about again aside from the aforementioned online upload i said beforehand.

Again, no need to since they don't qualify as "unused" content for the game if they weren't inside of the game files, most likely thing to have happened is that they remade the whole ASG1 OST in 8-bit for the sake of it and then they decided how they would implement it into the game and not the other way around (notice how neither of the Mighty No. 9-inspired stages have actual MN9 music but more ASG1 songs).
Also, "highly unlikely these tracks will ever be heard from or even known about again" is just not true because Inti has been selling the CD to this very day? Again, they have a stranglehold on CD releases. Them refusing to make their songs available digitally (probably due piracy concerns) shouldn't be a justification to "preserve" them on an unrelated website (believe me, you can actually download it from multiple sources very easily if you know where to search).

"Early pickup items" still used in 3DS Version

I was reading up on this article again when i noticed something about the "Early pickup items" section. While its not entirely untrue, ive found out that the 3DS version still uses the early pickup items sprites, presumably because Inti Creates didnt care enough to update the 3DS version with these updated sprites.

Here is proof from an actual console: https://i.imgur.com/LtoWIC5.png

Should this be mentioned? It doesnt have to be a big mention, just a simple note discovery within the section.

Edit: This is only for the pickup items (I.E the fruit, jewels, and 1-Ups). I dont believe the other unused sprites listed on the page exist within the 3DS version. NecroNova (talk) 03:27, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
