Information on how to obtain basically everything else that's not on this page
Sonic Scanf has nearly everything that's unused (save for screenshots of some of the unused models and unused text for the "Echidna" version of the "Timmy in Trouble!" Sidequest) documented [info.sonicscanf.org/Секреты_Sonic_Chronicles:_The_Dark_Brotherhood Here]. Xoreos has tools implemented for basic converters & such, however MKDS Course Modifier has full support for NSBMD & Animations from this game. Additionally the "regional differences" mentioned in the "to do" entitle Chaos Emeralds being different colors in the Japanese release.
Unused Models?
Someone on the Models Resource found an unused model. Could there be more?
Developer in-joke
Could be wrong but I believe the developer note in the Unused Text section is a reference to Family Guy.
Nocturne Theme
According to the comments section of this video, this is how the nocturne theme was supposed to sound like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TplshN4vsyc&feature=youtu.be Can anyone verify if this information is correct? --NightYoshi370 (talk) 00:58, 25 December 2019 (EST)
- Siivagunner is literally a joke channel that makes deliberately mixed up versions of game themes. This was an attempt to make the Nocturne theme sound more like the theme it is based on, that of the final boss of Sonic 3. I don’t know what particular MIDI instruments fail to be called in the theme, but those comments are likely just making assumptions based on a lack of info. —AquaBat (talk) 13:12, 2 January 2020 (EST)
Game Over Music Bug
I noticed when playing this game recently that it seems to have a bug where the game over music doesn't play when the 3rd save slot is occupied. Or maybe it's just if you're playing out of the 3rd save slot, and it's fine if you play out of the 1st or 2nd save slots while the 3rd slot is occupied? I'll probably end up investigating it myself later on, but I thought it'd be worth dropping a comment about it here in case I forget to get around to it. --Ngoomie (talk) 06:25, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
Unused mission data
The game contains some files with a .plo extension, these are in the Aurora Engine's gff format and they appear to contain data for flags that are activated when certain story or mission-related events occur. One of these files is called plt_teatest.plo, containing flags with the names POISON_TEA, DRANK_TEA and HATE_TEA. Three other .plo files, plt_plot1.plo, plt_plot2.plo and plt_plot3.plo, also appear to contain flags for test missions. plt_plot1.plo has flags labelled TIMMYQUESTSTARTED, RESCUEDTIMMY and TIMMY_REFUSED (Timmy is a human who you have to 'rescue' in one of the game's side missions) --TheDanimal
Unused Nocturne Percussion Track
The horrible track "Nocturne" (bgm13 in the game's data), has a completely unused and seemingly unrelated percussion track within it, along with accompanying unused percussion instruments. Fits with absolutely nothing else heard in the game, as to why it exists is anyone's guess.
- My rip of it --Dobby233Liu (talk) 08:56, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
- The mp3 attached in the op doesn't have the horrendous reverb my rip has though --Dobby233Liu (talk) 08:58, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
