CD Player Warning

There is a warning that plays on game discs when you put them in a CD Player

LaserActive bios(es)

I have dumped mine but I don't think I can share it here? Dumping it is not hard since the whole thing is mapped to the CPU memory bus and a serial port memory dumper exists (https://chrismcovell.com/PCEmon/index.html), but the process is a bit finicky (mostly comes down to the terminal application and how it handles data being piped into it without generating garbage). The real challenge, though, is finding LaserActive owners who don't mind helping for science, everyone I met either uses it as a fancy shelf piece or is very averse to plugging jumper wires directly into the controller port. I'd be glad to help anyone with a unit on hand.

For screenshotting the BIOS title screen, while my dump works on the real deal out of an everdrive, it hangs in Mednafen, unfortunately the program checks for several hardware bits to be on/off before showing the title screen and I couldn't poke it towards booting. --Hyaku Mega Shock (talk) 00:36, 2 May 2022 (UTC)
