The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt/Animations
This is a sub-page of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Geralts Animations
During development of the game, Geralt had an established set of movement animations that were later on swapped - only mere months before release. Walking, running, jumping, landing, climbing, attacking and dodging - essentially all aspects of Geralts animation style - were changed as late as October 2014 to what we see in the released version.

Walks
Geralts fast walk animation when first seen in the E3 demos has a very imposing, rugged style. With broad shoulders, a relaxed but determined posture, and naturally swaying arms that fit with the type of restrictions wearing such armour would give. He also has has additive animations applied, which make him look at his surroundings as he walks. In the retail release, the entire animation was changed. His arms are much more animated in themselves, the head additives were removed so he no longer looks around, and his posture is much more focused and stiff. This gave Geralt a very flamboyant feel, completely different from what was seen in earlier demos.
This walk was completely cut from the game, but remnants that were stitched together allowed the developers of the mod E3ARP - E3 Animations Revival Project to recreate the walk with very high accuracy.
His slow walk existed in the game files, but was unused in-game. The difference between the E3 demos and release for the slow walk are much more minute. For both walks, the release versions have much more polish, and are of higher quality.
