Torrente 3: The Protector is a low-budget open-world game based on the third entry of the popular Spanish movie franchise Torrente. The PS2 version is not only one of the very few games developed in Spain for the console but is one of the filthiest games on the system, featuring multiple "Hot Coffee"-esque minigames and passing gas contests.

Unused Music

INTERIOR.MIB

A very muffled and reverb-heavy version of "La Discoteque", intended to be used in an interior, although it is unknown which. Two other, less muffled versions of the song are used in the strip club and disco respectively.

TRAINING.MIB

A Rocky training montage-esque song. Likely intended for the Vicente Calderón Stadium minigames, which strangely have no music in-game.

Regional Differences

Despite the fact Torrente is virtually unknown outside of Spanish-speaking countries (most didn't get any of the movies at all) and its humor often references Spanish pop culture, this game got a release in the rest of Europe, complete with an English translation and dub.

Slight title change aside, the English version's menu background was resized to cover the whole screen as opposed to being letterboxed, which lead to resizing artifacts. The video was also made 10% darker than the original, making some details nearly impossible to notice or completely disappear.

The English release also removes the Outtakes (Tomas Falsas) option from the main menu. The video is still present in the game's files (completely unchanged from the Spanish version), but it goes unused.
