Grassland indeed had a multiplayer variant if I remember correctly

the singleplayer build indeed had these 3 levels on it. Multiplayer had at least grassland and desert

I'm really not sure but I think the 3rd mp stage was a castle one

Now about these old videos, had a look at that old computer of mine, the rig itself got trashed in a storm, life got in the way a bit, but I'm hoping I can salvage data on the hard drive somehow

Were the multiplayer levels definitely different from their singleplayer versions?

I don't think so... maybe they had a few tweaks here and there but [they] were mostly similar

[Showed the early koopa stomping sound heard in the e3 trailer]

don't remember hearing that, [but] with all the music and people chatting, hearing the game was kinda complicated. so my answer to that sound being used can only be a "maybe"

[Talking about what triggered the thank you for playing screen]

I really do think there might have been a timer like in the NSMB [store] kiosk demo. an invisible one that pulls the "Thanks for Playing" screen after a set amount of time

From what I remember, clearing a level triggered it [too]

[Showed mockup of level select bottom screen - like final vs one but with just a white background and the level icons]

the level select looked roughly like that, there was a message telling you to select a level

[Showed mockup of title bottom screen - white background with "title menu font" spelling out "Press A"]

I think it was more in line with MKDS's "Press the A Button" [in terms of text]

[asking if it might have said "course" rather than "level" - usual official nintendo terminology]

yeah, chances are it said "course"

Stages might had been named too

"Field" "Desert" and "Fortress"

[Asking about the Mega Goomba boss battle]

I might remember it wrong but the music didn't really cut. The game would keep playing the level's music during the animation and then would've swapped to a boss theme (if it ever did)

As I remember it:
Mario would fall directly in front of the Goomba, and that goomba would just grow up and the boss would start

[Asking about the boss door]

There was no door per say, it was a doorway. and it definitely was enclosed to the right.

[After showing this image]

[that] might be right yeah

[Asking if it was the same size as the normal doors in the demo]

Maybe it was the same size actually

What happened when you got 100 coins in singleplayer? Also, did the castle in the multiplayer demo have a boss?

have no idea for the 100 coins thing

and I don't think the castle level had the boss when playing in multiplayer

Was the beginging of the field level a recreation of SMB 1-1, or just similar objects/layout?

similar

For the conveyor bit in the castle (the bit missing from the video), was it just conveyor belts in the section, or were there other objects/enemies (like blocks, ground, platforms, etc)?

there were some enemies in the conveyor belt section

Do you know what enemies were in the conveyer belt section?

Maybe skelerex [dry bones]

multiple ones

or koopas
