This page details bugs of Vented/Skate 3.
Character Glitches
Note that all of these can still be obtained if you import a friend's skater.
Missing Texture Glitch
If you equip any DLC content on your skater, change their gender, uninstall the DLC, and change their gender back, the DLC content you equipped will have missing textures on them.
Tattoo to Logo Transfer Glitch
If you equip your skater with a tattoo and then equip a customizable top before it is previewed, the tattoo can be seen over your top. This can be used to place logos where you normally couldn't.
Colored Hands Glitch
If you use the Tattoo to Logo Transfer Glitch on your arm using the long chain-like tattoo, enlarge it to the max, and turn in 90 degrees. Then, move the tattoo around. You may notice your skater's arm will get darker. It can be shades of brown, black, and green.
Invisible Legs Glitch
If you import a friend's skater who is wearing full length pants such as jeans or chinos, changing the pants to shorts with give the skater invisible legs. This is presumably because the game unloads body parts if they are covered up, and a check to make them visible again was not programmed when importing a skater.
Glowing Skater
If you had a modded skater when the game first came out, your skater would appear the way you modded them in, but later, EA patched this exploit. An unseen side effect of this causes all custom assets to glow. It is unknown what causes this. Glowing Skaters can still be imported via friends.
Speed Glitches
A very popular glitch, mostly due to how useful it is. The reason so many speed glitches exist is because of how Skate 3 handles collision with your board when you are on and off of it. Most setups cause the board to be wedged slightly into or get stuck in map geometry. The game quickly snaps the board to your skater's feet, causing a burst of speed. There are many, many ways to do this glitch, and a majority are listed below.
Propulsion Speed Glitch
If you run into a steep incline that your skater can step over (such as rails, ramps, breasts/bumps, etc.) and summon your board as soon as they step over, you will go flying into the air. This can be done on cars, props, walls, rails, ramps, breasts/bumps, NPCs, trees, and on some occasions stairs. Please note that this trick is very inconsistent, and speed may vary on how you walk into an object.
Forwards Man Speed Glitch
Backwards Man Speed Glitch
When standing still, if you jump and press the right shoulder button at the peak of your jump, and press Y/U+25B3 right as you fall, you gain a lot of speed. It's important to angle your skater 45 degrees to the left or the right, depending on how you ride your skateboard.
Cannonball Speed Glitch
"Running Man" Speed Glitch
When riding on your skateboard, if you pop an ollie and press Y/U+25B3 right before the peak of your jump with Up on the left joystick and A/U+2715, your skater will continue running, and gain slight momentum based on how fast your skater was moving. Press Y/U+25B3 as your skater begins to gain speed. Please note that at higher speeds, your skater will bail.
"Superman" Launch Glitch
Not necessarily a speed glitch per se, but can allow you to send your skater flying into the air. If you perform a full ollie jump and do the Superdude trick, there's a chance your skater can get stuck in the floor and subsequently propelled into the air.
Map Errors and Oversights
Shiny Tree
In insertdistricthere, a tree can be found with incorrectly mapped normals, giving the effect of the tree glowing.
Flinging Trashcan
In the downtown district, position your skater's marker in a specific spot, reset all props, and a trashcan will fling towards your character. This is due to the trashcan being placed slightly into the ground.
UV Stretching
In multiple areas across the game, the UV's of ground textures are mapped incorrectly, causing them to stretch. This is very noticeable.
Miscellaneous Glitches
Hall of Meat Slowdown Effect on Menu
If you bail and fracture a bone in the Hall of Meat mode, the game is slowed down to imitate slow-motion editing. If you pause at any time during this slowdown, it carries over to the Menu, loading screens, and the character editor.
Suicidal AI Skaters
A very rare glitch involving AI Skaters, due to the way their pathfinding was programmed can lead to an AI Skater to roll off of a large cliff, performing a trick in the process. This is most notable at the Quarry.
"Air" Trick Glitch
Unknown whether or not this was intended by the developers. If you grab your board to do a flip and immediately let go of the triggers when you begin flipping, you do a trick called "Air."
Airtime Failsafe
Not a glitch, but usually requires a glitch to do so. If you get launched into the air on your board high enough where it takes a few seconds before you hit the peak of your launch, and your skater will be unable to land a trick, the game will teleport you down to the nearest point on the ground. This is easy to see in game by jumping off the cliff near the Super-Ultra-Mega Park's bowl.
