So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?
Hmmm...
To do:
  • Check out and compare footage uploaded to IGN's official YouTube page. This includes early footage between E3 (May 16-19, 2001) to near completion for it's American release (September 17, 2001) [IGN Playlist]. Notable differences include different font, a different Turbo logo, and many other minor differences to the Hud comparable to Wave Race 64. There's also this brief snippet from this Japanese trailer at [0:17]
  • Compare Japanese footage, as there are slight differences, such as different names for locations, different camera angle, and slightly [different font].
  • Take note of how to activate the [sarcastic announcer] [easter egg] that went undiscovered until 2010.

Wave Race: Blue Storm is a satisfying, albeit challenging sequel and, alas, the last game in the Wave Race series so far.

Link Cable Functionality

Wave Race-Blue Storm-GBA Mockup.png

Present in the WRdata folder is a Game Boy Advance multiboot image called client.bin that would have been downloaded to the GBA using the GC/GBA Link. However, the final game lacks any such capability. Graphics and text present within the file hint that the player might have used the GBA Link to see some kind of monitor. Shown above is a mock-up of what it would have looked like.

By changing the file extension to .mb, you can boot it up in VisualBoyAdvance and it'll display the above screen. There doesn't seem to be any functionality beyond this as pressing buttons does nothing.

The text starts at hex address 1AC4 in this file:
