Boulder Dash EX is a remake of the classic game, which gives the game a plot, replaces the protagonist with a blue cat, and sports a rock-heavy soundtrack. (No pun intended.)

At some point, the European language select may have been planned to support Spanish, Italian, Dutch, and Japanese. The screen loads tiles for them into memory.
French and German Language
Throughout the US ROM, text in French and German can be found, left over from the European release, which has French and German options in addition to English. In the US release, only English language is used.
