Box Critters is very much the spiritual successor to Club Penguin. That said, the game is still quite early in development, with lots to be implemented.

How will the new shop work? Great question. Each land will have a unique shop with a unique
shop keeper. The shop is updated every week. Each shop will have a free item, a preview of
next week's free item and the ability to purchase last week's free item if you missed it.
The shop will also include a number of items available world-wide and exclusive to the shop.
I would encourage you to talk with the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper may have a number of deals
and secret items for you.
