[Geralt self monologue if the old man notices him]

Geralt: How about that - takes a tired old man not to panic and run when I appear.

Geralt: Matter of that agent - still bothering you?

Triss: Of course. Pretty damn badly.

Triss: I don't want to be like them.

Geralt: You're not, never will be. Believe me.

Triss: Ugh, Geralt… if you only knew what I think… what I feel when I see the next pyre… when I find the bodies of friends and adepts… massacred so badly I can't possibly identify them…

[If the fight was minor]

Dudu Biberveldt: Though it started to get ugly there.

[If there was no fighting]

Dudu Biberveldt: Crowds do like to jeer, but few are willing to fight a witcher.

Dudu Biberveldt: Where's Dandelion? Why's he not with you?

Irina Renarde: He's disappeared, vanished around when you did. I'm afraid only Geralt knows what it's all about.

Dudu Biberveldt: We must find him. I'm certain we can together.

Geralt: Not a chance. Won't abandon you.

Vesemir: It's not a request, Geralt.

[BEGIN CHOICES]

Geralt choice 1: How much did you pay the arbalist?

Geralt: How much did you pay the arbalist? You know, the one who "killed you"?

Letho: Not one crown. I found out there was a Ben of Kovir in Vester's band of merry men.

Letho: See, a while ago I met Ben's father, saved his life. He was a master archer from Kovir. And I'd heard Ben took after his father in that respect.

Letho: So I contacted him. We decided that if Vester ever tracked me down, Ben'd shoot me before any real fightin' broke out.

Geralt: Risky as plans go.

Letho: Is it? Only thing I feared was someone besides Ben wanting to check if I was really dead. Or make sure I was by bashin' my skull in. But a bit of fear's a small price to pay for freedom.

Geralt choice: Why don't we just kill Ge'els?

[Opening line if Geralt did not discuss making a deal with Ge'els in the opening scene of the quest]

Geralt: Probably accuse me of being a typically primitive human - but why don't we just kill Ge'els?

[Opening line if Geralt discussed making a deal with Ge'els in the opening scene of the quest]

Geralt: Still haven't explained why we need to mess around with this subterfuge instead of just killing Ge'els.

Avallach: Because we would gain nothing in the short term… and we might not live to see the long term.

Avallach: With Ge'els, it is not what he does on the battlefield, but beyond it. He manipulates, lies, keeps the Aen Elle in check.

Avallach: Remove that pawn from the board, and you won't change the outcome of the match. Keep it there, and you could use it to change the rules.

Novigrad Drunk 13: Fool's talk, that! He'd burn his feet if he danced on pyres.

Novigrad Drunk 11: No flames can 'arm our gracious king! His heart's tempered in th' Eternal Fire!

[Second conversation]

Redanian Soldier 01: So? You interested? They're givin' away parcels near Cleves, Maribor, Carreras, even…

Redanian Soldier 01: Soil's deep dark there, fertile… I'm ready, ready to hang my sword over the mantle, take to workin' the land.

Redanian Soldier 04: What of the Temerians who live there?

Redanian Soldier 01: What of them? They'll have to resettle elsewhere. Folk of Temeria've got a debt to pay - we brought them fraternal assistance.

[Third conversation]

Temerian Woman 01: How am I to know?

[Second conversation]

Temerian Bandit 01: My brother-in-law's hidin' Nilfgaardian spies.

Redanian Officer 01: We'll need to confirm your allegation.

Temerian Bandit 01: Aye, yep, aye.

Redanian Officer 01: We know which house it is. You may go.

Temerian Bandit 01: Hm, see I heard 'em make mention… that there's some award for information… some coin…

Redanian Officer 01: You heard wrong. The mention was of new taxes.

[Third conversation]

Temerian Woman 02: I know what I saw. She spent the whole winter cavorting with them Nilfgaardians.

Temerian Woman 02: Ciril saw it, too. Go on, tell them Ciril.

Verden Boy 01: Mhm.

Redanian Officer 01: The Nilfgaardians are gone.

Redanian Officer 01: He's not on the list. What did he do? Exactly.

Temerian Peasant 01: He cozied up to 'em! Worked with 'em! Plotted! Schemed! Against the king!

Redanian Officer 01: Pelko Sambor, aged fifty, two children, a rye field, and one goat.

Temerian Peasant 01: Do what you will. I'm just sayin'.

[Fifth conversation]

Redanian Soldier 01: They say you harbor Nilfgaard's spies in your home.

Redanian Soldier 02: Come clean, hand them over, and you might come out of this with your life.

Temerian Peasant 02: He tell you this?

Temerian Peasant 02: Go on, search my house. You'll find nothin' and no one.

Shani: An infection.

Redanian Soldier 01: Care to elaborate, madame medic? Here's a matter of grave concern to the Redanian Army, which I represent.
