"Unlimited Colors" Bug Details?
So hey, it's my understanding that this bug is only triggered after exiting/re-entering the menu multiple times before playing a stage? I don't have the game to verify this and since the original release of Colo(u)rs didn't hold my interest I'm not planning on picking up the "Ultimate" version. Can someone with the game confirm/deny and update the bugs page accordingly? S SoNick (talk) 06:42, 9 September 2021 (UTC)
- The most well-known instance of the bug is/was caused by switching back and forth between the different planet maps repeatedly - not even in quick succession, just switching back and forth enough times in a single session would be enough to trigger it. I've heard it said that Aquarium Park was specifically the cause, or at least the most likely to cause problems, but I don't know how true that is. What's especially insidious about it is that sometimes, there's nothing wrong on the world map - it's only when you actually enter a stage that things start breaking.
- While that version of the bug does seem to have been fixed, I suspect memory leaks are still happening, albeit to a much lesser degree. I've had some bizarre visual glitches happen on the latest version that bear a strong resemblance to the kind of corruption and distortion that the "Unlimited Colours" bug produced, but I have no idea what's causing them in my case - unless it's just due to extended sessions of play (I usually just put the console in sleep mode without quitting) or a significant number of restarts in a single stage (trying to S-Rank some of the bosses is painful). --KyuuGryphon (talk) 07:35, 30 September 2021 (UTC)
