Staying alive when on 0 HP

When dead, falling, in debug fly mode, hanging on ceilings, ledge grabbing and possibly more, you can stay alive at 0 HP, in this state, if you fall in water the drowning animation plays instead of the normal but less common dying in water, falling on solids plays the default death animation, this will not work with lava, unless you debug fly at the right time, this can easily be observed when a code that makes haze damage always active --BrewmasterLo (talk)

Quicker method of crashing the game on save selection screen

Technically, all the player has to do in order to crash the game on the save selection screen is to hold the Control Stick in the down position as the START button is pressed on the Mario head screen. While the Control Stick is held down in that position, the player has to press the A button at the correct time during fade-in, so the score check dialog shows up. At that point, the "No saved data exists" message stays on screen. As soon as "Erase file" is selected, the confirmation prompt appears on screen. Selecting "Yes" causes the game to crash. The game puts the cursor on Mario A file by default and the "Score" button, which needs to be pressed in the first step just happens to be right underneath the Mario C file. The cursor reaches the button shortly after the fade-in starts with the Control Stick held in down position. As a mere fact, this method is used in "Fastest crash" TAS video accessible under this link: https://youtu.be/-pErLO4pw-I - you can see the green tile being selected, shortly before the red one is selected while on "Scores" screen. --Titanic4 (talk) 07:43, 19 June 2022 (UTC)
