A family of microcomputers designed specifically to compete with the market-leading ZX Spectrum. What could go wrong? While the systems had their perks, like a lower price and an actual sound chip, they also had their downsides, like a buggy ROM and error-checker that made loading programs off of tape a pain. The systems sold well enough throughout Europe, particularly in France where the Oric-1 was a top-seller, but they were ultimately cast into the sands of history...
