Regional Differences
Japan | USA | Europe |
---|---|---|
There are a few differences:
- The cursor is purple in the Japanese version and white in the others.
- The Japanese version has a unique title, which is written underneath the logo: チップとデールの大作戦 or Chippu to Dēru no daisakusen, which translates to "Chip and Dale's Great Operation".
- Each version has a different copyright section.
US | Japan/Europe |
---|---|
The Japanese and European versions correct several graphics issues in the US opening cutscene:
- Gadget's tail was shortened and curled a bit.
- A light brown streak going down the left sleeve of Chip's jacket was removed.
- Dale was shifted to the right by one pixel in order to remove a green streak down the back of his head. Unfortunately, they forgot to move the top part of his shirt to match.
- A brown spot was removed from Monty's jacket.

Gadget Then, I'll go on ahead and provide something that might help on the way. |
CHIP GOOD IDEA, GADGET! THAT'S THE SPIRIT. DALE, YOU AND I CAN START ON THE TRAIL. MONTY, WHY DON'T YOU AND ZIPPER TRACK DOWN ONE OF THOSE STRANGE MECHANICAL DOGS WE'VE BEEN SEEING IN THE PARK LATELY? |
チップ OK! タノムヨ ガジェット。 モンタリー ト ジッパーモ サキニイッテ ボクタチヲ タスケテクレルカイ? |

Monty OK! |
The Japanese dialogue of the opening cutscene is also severely short compared to the English one and only barely related. Mentions of the plot like Mandy and the mechanical dogs are nowhere to be seen. There are no line breaks beyond three lines as well.
