Skating Queen Cookie
A placeholder spritesheet for Skating Queen Cookie reusing Coffee Cookie's spritesheet. Boring...
Skating Queen Cookie Effect
2 Early revisions of Skating Queen Cookie's effects. The first is an obvious placeholder with a strange art style and a number of frames used being defined. The second was added in the middle of 2014 and features a green cloud hole cover that it's associated plist defines as being related to ch31, or Pink Choco Cookie. It could have been considered during development that Pink Chcco would have also made hole coverings, but it was never implemented.
Snow Blossom
Snow Blossom uses a recolored blue version of Dragon's Tail with ice breath. Cool!
Hero Cookie
A placeholder spritesheet for Hero Cookie, again reusing an existing Cookie's spritesheet, this time being Knight Cookie. Still boring...
Hero Cookie Effects
2 early revisions of Hero Cookie's effect spritesheet exist. The first is an obvious placeholder with frames being numbered present, and the second suggests that Devil Cookie would have used a blast effect and had it stored in Hero Cookie's effect spritesheet, where Devil Cookie's effects are uncolored.
Jellyco Cube
Jellyco Cube uses a copy of Dragon's tail that can shoot missiles out of it's back. Very cool!
Jellyco Cube Missiles
Sketches of Jellyco Cube's missiles.
Rebel Cookie
A placeholder spritesheet for Rebel Cookie, using a hue shift of Ninja Cookie. Coincidentally, some early promotional images depict Rebel Cookie as a red recolor of Ninja Cookie.
Rebel Cookie Effect
A rough effect spritesheet of Rebel Cookie, notably without his decoy doll that was present in the final version.
Devil Cookie
A blue hue shift of Hero Cookie used as a placeholder for Devil Cookie's spritesheet.
Devil Cookie Effects
Early blue effects for Devil Cookie.
Soul Jellies
Devil Cookie's Soul Jellies have early variants that resemble generic, howling Cookies.
Wizard Cookie
Another Hero Cookie hue shift for Wizard Cookie. This time, he's purple.
Wizard Cookie Effects
2 early revisions of Wizard Cookie's effects spritesheet exists. The first is a simple rough sketch, and the second uses a crude explosion effect that isn't used anywhere else.
Luck-O'-Lantern
A recolor of Rare Garlic colored orange is used as a placeholder for Luck-O'-Lantern.
Fairy Cookie Effect
An early version of Fairy Cookie's magnetic effect and shield spritesheets.
Rockstar Cookie
A placeholder spritesheet for Rockstar Cookie featuring Special Force Cookie. The early sprites alternate between a reddish recolor and a blue recolor.
Note Jellies
Rockstar Cookie's Note Jellies are literally just poorly drawn blobs.
Spotlight Fan
Spotlight Fan uses a version of Glitter Ball without a bow, a yellow capsule bottom, and no glitter inside of it.
Cherry Cookie
An unusually high effort placeholder for Cherry Cookie depicting her as an edited version of Wizard Cookie wearing a red robe and carrying a cherry instead of a staff.
The idea of recoloring Wizard Cookie would become an official idea in December 2018 with Cookie Run: OvenBreak's Wizard Cookie's Holiday Wizard costume, where it would be released alongside a repaint of the official Wizard Cookie blind box figure.
Cherry Bombs
Placeholder
Some obvious placeholders for the Cherry Bombs, the scribbled fuse effect should be a giveaway.
Pre-release
Cherry Cookie's Cherry Bombs were darker in color before Cherry Cookie was officially released.
Rocket Firework
Rocket Firework uses a recolor of Hand of Liker, complete with blast sprites!
Carol Cookie
Carol Cookie uses a recolor of Kumiho Cookie wearing a green dress. Like Cherry Cookie's placeholder, Carol Cookie's placeholder is higher effort compared to the previous hue shifts.
Carol Cookie Effect
Carol Cookie's effect uses a different style for her speech bubbles, and the lyre waves are more wavy instead of being circular.
Yule Log Cake
Yule Log Cake uses a copy of AWOL Cracker with a red jellybean headset instead of a green one.
Pink Choco Cookie
After a series of high effort placeholders, Pink Choco Cookie's spritesheet dissappointingly uses Cherry Cookie's final spritesheet.
Prophet Cookie
A hue shift of Buttercream Choco Cookie with a pinkish tone.
Purple Candle
2 early revisions of Purple Candle's effect spritesheet are known to exist. The first only has 4 frames of a crude purple frame, and the second includes the previous flames as well as a fortune cookie, a fortune cookie cracked in half, and a fortune. Unlike the final version, there are no sparkle effects.
Pistachio Cookie
Pistachio Cookie uses a green hue shift of Hero Cookie as a placeholder.
Vampire Cookie
A prototype spritesheet for Vampire Cookie. It is a modified version of Devil Cookie's spritesheet but the Giant Devil is replaced with Vampire Cookie's bat form.
Grape Juice Jellies
The Grape Juice Jellies that are created during Vampire Cookie's skill used Snow Globe's Potion as a placeholder.
Apple Cookie
Apple Cookie uses a recolor of Pink Choco Cookie that is green instead of, well... Pink. It has more effort put into it instead of the common hue shift, and comparing the official Pink Choco Cookie spritesheet to this version also shows a different layout, meaning that the spritesheet was built from the ground up.
Apple Balloon Jellies
The Apple Balloon Jellies that appear in Apple Cookie's BONUSTIME were more deatiled, as they reused the Apple Jellybean design.
Soda Cookie's waves
A rough version of Soda Cookie's waves.
Windy
An early spritesheet for Windy, using a recolor of Gold Drop depicted in a red hue.
Fox Bead
Fox Bead has a placeholder spritesheet as well, using the same exact red Gold Drop recolor for Windy.
Tiger Lily Cookie
A slightly alternate early iteration of Tiger Lily Cookie that appears to have been nearly completed before being tossed. It appears to be virtually identical to the final design of Tiger Lily Cookie with only a few minor differences. Most notably, her color scheme is lighter compared to her final version. Her "cat eye" pupils are also wider, and her flower hairpin is smaller and has a different, less detailed design. Some sprites are also posed and/or expressed differently compared to the final.
Interestingly, a remnant of Tiger Lily Cookie's early design did manage to sneak into the final game, where a head icon for Tiger Lily Cookie will appear on the Episode Select/Map screen once the player has unlocked Tiger Lily Cookie via Mystery Boxes in Primeval Jungle.
Fire Spirit Cookie
A work in progress spritesheet of Fire Spirit Cookie using Hero Cookie as a base.
Moonlight Cookie Effect
Moonlight Cookie's effects reuses Blackberry Cookie's ghosts.
Mini Jackson No. 2 Effect
Mini Jackson No. 2's electric zap effects are all white instead of having color to them.
Cherry Blossom Cookie Effect
Cherry Blossom Cookie's effects are more simple compared to the final version.
Bean Drop Duo
Bean Drop Duo uses Witty Dumbbell as a placeholder, which is fitting, as both are "2 in 1" pets.
Lemon Cookie Effects
Lemon Cookie's effects are still a work in progress. It's rather evident that Fire Spirit Cookie's effects are used as a base for Lemon Cookie's effects.
Orange Cookie Effect
Orange Cookie's effects are a random mishmash of effects that don't match up or have any consistent theming.
Lime Cookie
A fairly early sketch spritesheet of Lime Cookie. Her run, jump, slide, and double jump sprites are complete, her BONUSTIME and death sprites are rough, and her skill sprites are still sketches.
Macaron Cookie's Skill
An early spritesheet for Macaron Cookie's skill. Note that all of the Macaron Animals are chicks as opposed to the yellow one being a chick, and that the explosion effects are pinkish recolors of Orange Cookie's skill explosions.
Early Castanets Designs
Early versions of Castanets (Macaron Cookie's pet) feature alternate designs for the pet, with variations such as:
- One near identical to the final design, but with holly instead of a bow.
- A chocolate flavored Castanets.
- A pink Castanets.
- A white Castanets.
- A white chocolate flavored Castanets.
Cinnamon Cookie Jelly
Sketches of Cinnamon Cookie's Card Jellies.
Cinnamon Bunny
Work in progress versions of Cinnamon Bunny's sprites.
