D/제너레이션의 첫번째로 알려진 프로토타입은 애플 II용으로 1989년에 개발되었다. 타이틀 화면에 이어서 나오는 이미지로 알 수 있듯이 이 게임의 원 개발사는 Brøderbund가 되겠다. 이런것들을 봤을때, 다른 플랫폼으로 개발이 전환되기 전에 잠재적으로 수익을 내지 못함으로 짤렸던 것으로 보인다.
디버그 키
- Ctrl + A - 레벨 재시작.
- Ctrl + E - 레벨 편집기 접속.
- Ctrl + R - 그리기 루틴 재시작.
