Daiku no Gen-San 2 for the Famicom is a direct sequel to the previously released Daiku no Gen-san (released outside of Japan as Hammerin' Harry) and unfortunately does not hold up to the original game. This would be the last Famicom release published by Irem and the last to be developed by Micronics who at this point rebranded as Khaos.

Over 30 years later, the game would officially be reissued on NES courtesy of Retro-Bit, albeit unlicensed.

Stage Select

Press Up, Right, Down, Left, Up, Right, Down, Left when the Irem logo appears, then start a new game.

Press A or B to change the stage number, and Start to begin the selected level.

Sound Test

Press and hold A on Controller 2 before the title screen appears. You can either wait for the intro cutscene to end or just skip it by pressing Start. Press Up or Down to select a sound effect, and A to play it.
