The 3DO Interactive Multiplayer (as in Multimedia) is released in America for a whooping US$699.99. It is, however, significant in the fact that it's the first 32-bit based console released in America. Also released was the first (not really) 64-bit console, the Atari Jaguar, which also happened to be Atari's last console. Towards the end of the year, one of the most influential FPSes in the world was released.
