1995 is a big year. Not only do the Sega Saturn and the PlayStation release worldwide, but so do Windows 95 and DirectX, marking the beginning of Windows gaming usurping MS-DOS gaming. The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) gets its big start, as every gaming company jumps to the event from CES. The NES' last game ever is released in Europe to little fanfare. Nintendo’s Virtual Boy is also released, also to little fanfare. 16-bit gaming begins its slow decline.
