Error Screen

RobotnikMBM GG Cable.png

An error screen prompting the user to "check cable", which is used when the Link Cable is tampered with during a 2-Player game. It can also be seen by editing address D401 to any value higher than 03 in a memory editor when on the main menu, which will cause the screen to appear when pressing Start. After a few seconds of displaying this screen, the game will forcibly reset itself to the Sega logo.

Notably, this screen uses graphics seen nowhere else in the game. While Robotnik's body is original, the head is based on a drawing of him from an Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog model sheet.

A similar screen is present in Puyo Puyo.
